Ancillary Power Pools are available to everyone, no matter what alignment they are.
You didn't need to become a hero in order to get them, you already had them as a villain.
However, if you want a hero AT to have a Patron Pool you have to cross over to villain side in order to run the arc you need to run in order to unlock it.

The Patron Power Pools (Villain epics), however, require you to run a Patron arc in Grandville before you can take any of the powers. Any patron arc will give you access to all the PPPs, and you retain access even if you change alignment and/or respec your character.
Oh really lol, well i enjoyed the trip to the light-side anyways

As a redside player: bite me. Villains have always had to work for their epic pools while Heroes got them for free. Now Heroes have to work to get Villain epics, just like Villains do, while both Heroes and Villains get the Hero epics for free. It's about time bluesiders had to do a little work for a change.
