). However the locally adjusted time may differ in whatever way the inhabitants have decided upon. It was 1:00am local time twice last Sunday morning here. But UTC/GMT didn't budge (the first time it was 1am local time it was actually midnight UTC).

That said I'd agree it'd be more useful to regions that are farther away from the equator regardless.

I think they should just get rid of it completely. It's a hassle.
The entire world should be on UTC
people would just get up and go to bed at different times but it'd save having to work out time zones.

Even with a 3 month old who doesn't seem to want to understand the concept, no matter how often I explain it to him, and has been insisting on waking at 6am this week I'd hate to lose my BST (I'd be happy to move to BST all year round though).
