I have fun doing and leading the MSR on Friday nights at 8p est. I would like see if people are interested in doing a weekly CoP on friday nights at 8pm est.

If you guys are interested in doing Weekly CoPs runs on friday nights, I'll switch the weekly MSR(on friday) to some other day.

There are MSRs on Sunday night as well, so don't pick that night. I don't see why we can't schedule all and lots as long as people come.

Just my opinion:

Gold is valuable because of it's scarcity. It's not commonly found. I think one of the reasons that we have lackluster turnout is because when something is done routinely, (weekly), there is always next week to do the event.

If it were less frequently hosted, I think there would be more people showing up.

One of the reasons the CoP was so ...successful was, no doubt, because The Ocho was with us. But another factor was that so many had never done one. It was a rare event.
If The Ocho had been on a team for a CoP every day of a given week, pretty soon, attendance would dwindle.

So, in summary, do the MSR on whatever day you like, but only do one every two weeks, or once a month when attendance drops below a given level.

Ditto for the CoP. If it ever turns into a time sinking team member hunt, it's being done too often.

This is just my perspective.

So CoP next week and following week a MSR. Switch between.

Just as an innocent bystander - and a player who teams with both Horus (and a host of others who are in Robo's Lounge) and Matt (on seperate teams, of course) I'm curious about what is defined as griefing.

I have been accused of griefing once before. It took a very large headache and a great deal of chat, PM's and forum reading and responding to make my side of the story clear. The difference was - I was able to make a global friend out of my adversary after it was all said and done. My SG at the time was not in a position to stage server wide events. We were doing our thing when a server wide event commenced at the same time. I was unaware of this planned event. I felt griefed, they felt like they were being griefed.

It's an ugly accusation, and it's real easy to appear to be griefing when you're just trying to have fun with NPCs.

In the interest of server peace, it would be good if those of you with an issue with Matt (and vice-versa) would simply, without heated discussion, but calm, rational discussion explain what the problem(s) is/are and maybe these can be overcome with effort.

Now, Matt, I can understand how things may appear to you, but the Mods in LB, as a rule, are not "power hungry". I don't have to agree with all their decisions or actions/inactions. They serve a purpose and most of my problems with LB occur when there are no visible Mods. (some hide because they are too busy in game to deal with the issues, and who can blame them. It would be a large headache - it's not like they're getting a single benefit out of it.)

LFA, this new channel, if folks there are more ....tempered with their dialogue, all the better, but with essentially the same people, the same issues will resurface over time.

My advice is for all of you to forgive each other. Life is too short for petty problems. Reality, like it or not, is not your perception of the events that have occurred to make this conflict. Let's just say both sides (and the by-standers) are sorry about how things have turned out. Everyone who can't forgive and mean it, use the ol' gignore and carry on.

Hmm, I see. SO because of an in game possible grifing about or at events The persons involved are going to grif each other regulary outside of game in the forums so I should just ignore all post by those involved. I can do that it is annoying to do but It is a easy thing to do. Something I will consider. For those who sent me PM's thank you for those who have responded to my question thank you.

Good advice Rex. Nuff said.

You know Ukase, this sounds an awful lot like my post http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=222167 which apparently should have been read by more people since this issue has once again reared its ugly head. Like yourself, I'm a firm believer that life is way too short for petty problems. Hopefully this is something that can get put behind everyone, and we can get back to beating on bad guys (or good guys, if you're a villain).

I imagine everyone that is saying to turn the other cheek wouldn't have that approach if it were their event that someone tried to interfere with.

I'm sure AV would enjoy someone doing an event that isn't RWZ at 9 pm every Sunday. I know for a fact Sisterhood has cancelled their Sunday Sisterhood event when several events were placed on Sunday. I bet they wouldn't like if someone started running an event at exactly 3 pm every Sunday. No one would like it, especially if later it was stated that the time and date were picked only to take away from their events.

It's easy to say forgive and forget, it's more difficult to actually do it. Moreso when no apology has been given.

I think nearly every person or group of people have had to change some predetermined plans for events... Sometimes it's simply overlooking posts or not reading posts on specific sites... No harm, no foul and I doubt seriously most are done with ill intent...

I see it little different than multiple people forming multiple different TF/SF's at any given time, at the same time...

Our server population can handle several smaller events at the same time... I have all respects for AV and his efforts with the MSR, but I doubt he would seriously be mad if I or another decided to host a Positron TF or other event such as that... I think GEL and the SH would have no issues with someone planning Synapse or Numina or ITF during one of their events...

It's called 'choices' not griefing if some people want to propose different types of events at the times others have events... I personally try to be curtious when hosting larger events, but there are only so many days of the week... andd I only have to plan larger events on 'some' Saturdays, but have more personal game time on Sunday... I'm not griefing, I'm offering my time to coordinate a 'choice' and I see it no other way for many on here.

If someone has ill intent and does an event to spitefully detract from another, that is griefing... and I know someone has apologized several times over for doing just that... (We know who, what, where and when...) but it's time to 'let it go'... the continued bickering back and forth is not healthy to our community... and we call ourselves 'friendly"?... Sometimes, not so much...

I do understand frustration. You mention GEL and the Sisterhood, ( and they're a great bunch of folks, too) and how they might get upset if someone else staged an event at the same time and day. And, me knowing GEL only a little bit, I think she might get a bit peeved. But then, she'd have to realize that she's not the only SG leader on the server that has free time on Sunday afternoons. And, not only would all of this realization take place in a minute or less, she would probably offer to help (if she could) if the other group needed more people.

The Sisterhood is not really hurting for members or prestige, I wouldn't think. The Sisterhood does what they do on the weekends as a service to the server. It's really not any different than what Matt is trying to do. He understands how the events work, and what's needed to succeed in them. He's offering this understanding to anyone that wants to be a part of it.

Whether he's been firm or wishy washy in the leading of those events is not a relevant topic for a public forum. You take those issues to tells or PMs. (and those are typically counter-productive when done with anything less than the other persons best interest in mind)

Who would want to play in a server where all this nonsense goes on so freely? (admittedly, it probably goes on in all servers)
I've learned - I was taught by some of the veteran posters here - to be very careful what you write here. You may hit a nerve, and you'll hear about it for days and weeks, and I recall hearing about it for YEARS to come. I still get razzed about being anti-speedboost when not on a team.

The holiday season is closing in. Let's keep this in mind, and at a minimum, agree to disagree, but still be civil, if not friendly.

I think we should all remember this. GOD BLESS THE SISTERHOOD!

Fitz, I think it would do the server a great service if you could reiterate these things on vent. I would so enjoy hearing these comments in Richard Simmons actual voice! When I read your posts, that's the voice I hear in my head. If your content isn't funny, the voice helps me get a chuckle.

Did you mean your tennis balls, basket balls? All of them in general?

No no Ukase, your response should've been:

"I think it would do the server a great service if you shut the hell up!"

That'd be a zinger and a good one.

As for the content of my posts, they're always funny. I can't be responsible if your sense of humor stinks. And my Richard Simmons voice isn't quite up to par even though I do have the gay thing down pat.

Sorry you had a bad time... I think you got in on the second run of the day and was basically PuG's... But it was still a fun time...

Sign up early and be early to the 11/13 CoP and I'm 99.9% sure you'd make a team...

Don't judge an event by one failed attempt... Redemption is a big part of this game
