Do Veteran Pets buff each other?

Do the 48 Month Vet Pets buff each other's Def and Res? I know they stack on players, but do they help each other out as well? I guess in particular for the Def, it would make them harder to be defeated during gameplay if they had stacked Def.

I thought you could only have ONE of these pets, and they only affect the owner. Therefore they would not stack in any way whatsoever.

Well, let me clarify. I *think* they stack on the team. I'd have to pull up Combat Attribs to verify that though.
Yes, you can only have one, but if you are in a team of 8 people, and everyone is running a Vet Pet, I think the team receives multiple bonuses, one from each pet.

Looking at paragonwiki: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Assemble...mbat-Buff_Pets, it reads: "Give a buff to the owner (see buffs below)". So maybe it doesn't stack on a team. Hmm, that's not what I was thinking they did, though.

Like I said, they only affect the owner. They will not buff your team. They don't even affect a MasterMind's other pets. On a team of 8, each running a Vet Pet, you'd all still have a single buff.

I don't even think the Vet Pets benefit from their own buff, let alone from each other. The power icon you see in the Pet menu just shows their aura is active, not that they are getting a benefit from it.

I honestly don't know if they buff each other, but if I had guess I'd say they don't. They are meant to be very fragile. I doubt the Devs would have purposefully allowed them to help each other that way.

Also their buffs do not stack on players. A Vet buff pet only provides its buffs to its owner, not anyone else. IIRC there was a time (while they were still involved in one of the beta tests) that they may have provided their buffs to other players (like mini-Leadership powers) but that never really made it to the live builds.

Correct. They only buff the owner. But they are excellent aggro magnets.

Yes I originally thought their "fragileness" made them totally worthless. But I've come to realize they do serve pretty well as both passive and active aggro cannon fodder at the very least. You can cast them towards a group and let the MOBs Alpha the poor little pet first.

Not only were they originally designed to buff multiple players, they were originally MARKETED as such as well. The mechanics and description were changed by the time they went live, and a redname advised about the change.

They also supposedly had tiny little "micro-brawl" attacks at one point as well. This apparently explained why for the first month or so after they were released that their movement AI was geared to -charge- towards enemies and get themselves killed. It took Castle several patches to finally tune their AI back to be 'slightly' less suicidal than they were at first.

Apparently based on how much trouble it was for Castle to just "slightly adjust" the Vet pets' AI the whole pet AI system of this game must be very complex and inflexible.
