Champion Global Chat Channels

I transferred some characters to Champion from other servers and was wondering if there are any other TF/SF, trial, badging etc channels besides Champions United and BMT. Champions United is full and BMT is by invite only.

I could invite you to BMT. Global name?

I have been trying to for a while now on my second account and its not working. Unless there is some other definition of manually besides just regular means of joining a channel?

When I try with Champions United, it states that it's full.

That would mean the channel is just that then... full. I don't know the exact number, but global channels are limited to a certain number of members. The number may be 2,000 members, iirc, but it's been a long time since I last checked.

Looks like it's time for Champions United Too. :P

2500 is the channel limit.

Perhaps a certain person did not think ahead when CU was created. Pity that.

In the meantime, Cobalt runs a professional channel, and I would recommend it.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

As a side note, did you really save the old smirk emoticon so you could keep on using it?

There is an inactive kick option now all the channel mod needs to do is set it to a lesser time and it will kick accounts that havn't loged in x # of days/weeks/years. It shoud make room in the channel, if they wish to go this route.

I just started playing again and have heard about the BMT sandwich, er, channel.
Any chance I could get an invite to that as well? @Symar

It's not a song, it's a sandwich.

It means precisely what I intend it to mean, Silas, that being something showing the marks of being maintained by a professional in a professional manner.

As for the smirk...it makes both VORI and the VORI wannabes cry on the inside, so I prefer to use it as often as I can.

I need to stop this. Quoting you gives me horrifying insights into the inner mechanics of a TWS post. It's a lot like sausage being made, except the end product of that is delicious. The end product of this is, well, a TWS post

Protip: using the word itself more to show you know what it means doesn't really work.

Professional is not synonomous for 'like, really good'. I admit, pet peeve of mine.

I had some questions about this but like, this is an actual thing that you believe and then I

This needs to be explained.

The issue isn't the creator's "lack of foresight", but the popularity of the channel. AND if not knowing how popular the channel was going to be is something to make fun of, I'd love to know what the BMT contingency plan is if it ever raches the same level of interest.

By "Popularity" and "Interest" I'm goin' to assume you mean Blind Invites, daily.

From a new Champion player perspecitve the first piece of channel drama I saw was in BMT when a chan mod kicked another mod for being on hide, then an argument about the kicking was alowed to go on in channel for quit some time.

Regarding "thinking ahead", that makes little sense since BMT is also nearly full so does that mean that channel creator didn't think ahead? I am not sure how you think ahead on channel fullness...

You know, people have the option to say "no", thus by clicking "yes" I'm sticking by the term "interest". Oh and "popular" by the fact they haven't left said channel after saying "yes".

Whether it was a blind invite or not is invalid since we all have the free will to stay or go.

In no particular order...

Old BMT was also full, yet still managed to function until it's subsequent implosion due to complacency, not popularity or spammed invites.

iBud is correct.

Professionalism, in whatever terms o' use, is debateable and will always be.

That recent drama was a misunderstandin' and has been subsequently resolved.

And our quarterly channel drama is a go. I'm surprised it took this long.

What constitutes professionalism is debateable, yes. It's still not a synonym for 'really good' which was how he used it.

Either way, c'mon man give us a little credit. This isn't even close to a proper Champion drama thread. We can do better than this.

Agreed.

And I stand corrected. I don't believe I've seen one, to borrow from the PvP Thread, Cool Story Bro, or Feels Good Man.

I think the bigger picture needs to be looked at here, beyond defining what makes a channel 'popular'. There are some channels that are heavily populated, and that serves a purpose by creating the potential for players to reach out to more players, say, for forming TFs, raids, etc. However, a heavily populated channel does not mean that each and every member of that channel actually uses it. Many people might belong to several channels at a time, but only really use 1 or 2 consistently. Then there are smaller channels, where the purpose might be to connect with close friends. Each has a purpose and serves a function in a different way.

So instead of trying to define how popular a channel is as a benchmark of its quality, accept that differences exist for legitimate reasons.
