FOV, Chat Window config and Double Jumping.
Is there any way to move the Global, Help, Combat chat next to the Chat window (instead of above).
|
So yes, you can drag tabs on the top split to the bottom split.
There are also a series of numbers (1, 2, 3, 4) across the top of the main chat window. These open up into sub windows where you can place more chat tabs.
I am also looking to increase Field of View. The narrow FOV gives me motion sickness. |
There are no developer-exposed methods either. According to Television, implementing various resolutions that require Field of View changes, such as those supported under AMD Eyefinity and Matrox Triple Head2Go, requires some hefty changes to the back-end.
Lastly and this is for extra points, If I jump on a crate which is at the highest point of my jump, I tend to jump again (double jump). Is their a way to slow down the repeat on key presses so that I dont immediately jump again when I hit the ground? |
In theory you may be able to modify key-stroke repeat levels through the Operating System itself.
I used /window_scale Team 1.5
However that is a total scale, would be nice if I could do X, Y... I still dont get how to undock the chat. I pull it over but it doesnt undock
There is a way to change the font size, but its not mentioned...

Edit: Click on #1 so it becomes #2, and you can drag the window anywhere.

Ahh I see, perfect... Yep getting it somewhat right... Now I need chat window Opacity. I betcha there is a comand for it. I like black backgrounds for my chat.

Options > Graphics and Audio > User Interface > *set Window Opacity to 100%*
Seems to work.
EDIT: although there are separate dimming options for the four extra chat windows, they all seemed to be tied to the "main chat window"s setting, but I could be mistaken.

It looks like you left out team options

Changes all windows (not just chat) to 100%, is there an individual window Opacity command?
I am googling this stuff, just not very helpful. I look at ParagonWiki, and it looks helpfull, just hard to find these command lines. I have seen lists of all commands, but they are not clear/complete.
A guide for Helping people who play/played other MMO's and that have come to COH would be nice. I don't think this is default, I think its disabled, but Forward (Mouse Control) Left and Right Mouse set to Left and Right Mouse by clicking on the setting and pushing both buttons at the same time. I also find Mouse Movement Inverted seems to be the setting that is more like other MMO's.
Also a Guide on "Level Pacts", how they are not allowed on Trial Accounts and must be active in 5 levels would of been nice to know. How to create your character to start out as Evil, Rogue, Good and the Zones would be nice. We started out as rogue, without knowing it, and then we recreated our characters because we did were trial and did not know there was a level cap on the leveling pact. Rogue seems to be much more story line, PVE related (at least at the start)
I get motion sickness so Camera Shake: Disabled can help. Usually a larger FOV helps, but from what I hear this option is disabled. Usually an ini file has to be changed. 110-120 FOV on a 24 inch 1800x1200 screen does the trick. I have a very high speed set on My Mouse so a lower Mouse Look speed helps. Have not tried lowering the turning because this may limit your ability to perform at higher level. Unfortunately the best fix for motion sickness when none of the above work or are available is to keep getting motion sickness and eventually it will go away.
Motion sickness can be associated with a health issue, but more often or not it is a problem when your eyes see something move and your inner ear does not feel the movement (or its delayed slightly, like in flight simulators). The older rides in Disney world that have movement on a screen and moves the crowd at a slightly delayed response can cause major motion sickness. 3-D movies can also cause this since the movement of the movie does not equate to movement of the body.
