Unfortunately their is not "None" Link under the appropriate contacts "Contact Introduced By" that would direct you to all of the contacts that dont require a referral.

LOL,
I get all of the Vet Awards... Even though I only played for 2 months right after the games release...
Granted their was not enough content back then (I remember when people could finally wear a CAPE!, it was Big Thing!) -
Quote:How many people have been banned/removed due to the fact that they heard about X mod from some encounter within our outside of the game without proper understanding or NCSoft representation notifying these individuals that they mistakenly failed to follow the TOS.In the four years this topic has been open, there have been many questions and calls for clarification noted here that have not been adequately addressed by a Red Name. Are they waiting for the thread's five year anniversary or something?
You cant answer that, especially in an environment where the banned individuals are unable to even log into these forums. -
I am new to this game. I understand how cheats can be made, and distributed, but censorship is hardly the answer, infact its part of the problem. Removing threads reduces the information available to NCSoft developers to others who desire to follow the rules. In addition, it brings an entire community underground onto websites that have little or no regard for the rules. Innocent people will install these programs without knowing that they are breaking the rules.
In addition, removing discussions about what may be valid modifications, further restricts this conversation, and many people will find out about them in game or in other, non-trusted sources.
Effectively this decision to CENSOR these discussions are limiting the ability for individuals who want to follow the TOS to obtain accurate information regarding these mods.
Since they may not see, or realize, that this decision has been made... Many people may have valid topics regarding Mods, which may lead to the conclusion that this is against the TOS.
Now I will wait for someone to say that you are responsible for reading and understanding the TOS. However, TOS agreements are in question within the court system. If you write a legal document that is widely ignored, unreadable, confusing, etc... Then those documents have no Merritt. Since TOS and License agreements are so widely used (in fact EVERY website has one), the courts are beginning to widely disregard these documents. To then refuse your customers access to information pertanent to understanding the TOS is to further reduce the users ability to make an informed decision in regards to accepting that TOS. Thus, one may make a very valid argument, that their ban/removal of the game for usage of a 3rd party modification or cheat is illegal under the grounds that the company intentionally with held information that would have otherwise prevented this mistaken and uninformed decision. Personally, I welcome these court challenges, and would like to see less censorship, more freedom, and non-confusing 12 page TOS agreements that you must agree to, when ever 20 minutes.
Please Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_license_agreement for more information and case law examples of current trends in License and TOS agreements.
But I digress. Censorship is limiting information. Information empowers people to do right or wrong. Now you can say that most people will do wrong, however limiting information consistently leads to the inability for good people to do good, and generally empowers the strong to take advantage of the weak. If you want examples of this happening, I can pull hundreds of thousands of situations where decisions where decisions like this have failed.
Example: Borders made the decision to NOT to sell 2600. The problem is that most of the 2600 readers are individuals who are looking to secure their systems. They read about exploits and use that information to strengthen the computer systems they are in charge of. Limiting this information, brought this source of information out of the mainstream community (the book store consumers), and the publication was widely embraced by the underground and often criminal community. Eventually Borders witnessed this occur and they reversed their decision.
If I was NCSoft, I would look long and hard at these issues. These decisions are often knee jerk reactions without significant understanding and investigation of the topics and impacts that they have. I would suggest that they talk to information systems specialists (like Myself), who spend their lives studying how information is shared, used and how to allow for it to empower people to make the right decision. Their are many competent individuals who understand the impact both negative and positive behind these decisions. -
Quote:Is their a list of these contacts somewhere. There are contacts on the map, but from my limited experience they usually wont talk to youIf you find you don't have any common contacts there are some you can just walk up to - Hollows, Striga, Faultline, Midnighters (both) and Vanguard are examples of those. Detectives tend to offer 2 or 3 at a time after a Safeguard and are good for getting re-synced.

How do you know what quests you have done?
-
Me and My Wife like to play together. Where rather fanatical about it, and some find our dedication to be annoying/limiting. Especially when they want a healer (Me) to join, but find that I am not willing to do any teams without My Wife.
Anyways, we are in a Leveling Pact, and are on the Good Side. The NPC's tend to give out random quests and two people talking to the same NPC will get different quests. This was less of an issue when we where rogue, but we really did not understand the implications of joining Super Groups and such.
Is their a way to share story arcs, quests and/or contacts? -
Is there a way to search for members of a sg that are on?

It looks like you left out team options
Options > Graphics and Audio > User Interface > *set Window Opacity to 100%*
Changes all windows (not just chat) to 100%, is there an individual window Opacity command?
I am googling this stuff, just not very helpful. I look at ParagonWiki, and it looks helpfull, just hard to find these command lines. I have seen lists of all commands, but they are not clear/complete.
A guide for Helping people who play/played other MMO's and that have come to COH would be nice. I don't think this is default, I think its disabled, but Forward (Mouse Control) Left and Right Mouse set to Left and Right Mouse by clicking on the setting and pushing both buttons at the same time. I also find Mouse Movement Inverted seems to be the setting that is more like other MMO's.
Also a Guide on "Level Pacts", how they are not allowed on Trial Accounts and must be active in 5 levels would of been nice to know. How to create your character to start out as Evil, Rogue, Good and the Zones would be nice. We started out as rogue, without knowing it, and then we recreated our characters because we did were trial and did not know there was a level cap on the leveling pact. Rogue seems to be much more story line, PVE related (at least at the start)
I get motion sickness so Camera Shake: Disabled can help. Usually a larger FOV helps, but from what I hear this option is disabled. Usually an ini file has to be changed. 110-120 FOV on a 24 inch 1800x1200 screen does the trick. I have a very high speed set on My Mouse so a lower Mouse Look speed helps. Have not tried lowering the turning because this may limit your ability to perform at higher level. Unfortunately the best fix for motion sickness when none of the above work or are available is to keep getting motion sickness and eventually it will go away.
Motion sickness can be associated with a health issue, but more often or not it is a problem when your eyes see something move and your inner ear does not feel the movement (or its delayed slightly, like in flight simulators). The older rides in Disney world that have movement on a screen and moves the crowd at a slightly delayed response can cause major motion sickness. 3-D movies can also cause this since the movement of the movie does not equate to movement of the body. -
Ahh I see, perfect... Yep getting it somewhat right... Now I need chat window Opacity. I betcha there is a comand for it. I like black backgrounds for my chat.

There is a way to change the font size, but its not mentioned...

I used /window_scale Team 1.5
However that is a total scale, would be nice if I could do X, Y... I still dont get how to undock the chat. I pull it over but it doesnt undock -
Is there any way to move the Global, Help, Combat chat next to the Chat window (instead of above).
I am also looking to increase Field of View. The narrow FOV gives me motion sickness.
Lastly and this is for extra points, If I jump on a crate which is at the highest point of my jump, I tend to jump again (double jump). Is their a way to slow down the repeat on key presses so that I dont immediately jump again when I hit the ground?
Thanks -
Thanks for the welcome,
I started with COH on this server around release date... I "Maxed" out my toons, in a power leveling spree, and I ran My own SG that had a level gap that ultimately split it and was one of the things that lead me to quit. I thought that the update that added capes raised it to 65, but I have a 45 tank. So it must have been 40 raised to 45... Well where starting new, level 1... and are level 11 (though we may have to reset our toons to get them leveling locked)
Ahh well the game held a specal place in My Heart. It sticks with me as much as AO, WoW, LOTRO, Global Agenda, and the many other MMO's I have played in the years. I have matured and run comfortably and enjoyably as the healer, and find no other class to be as challenging and as exciting. I have also further matured right on into a marriage where Wife and best friend loves being a blaster, blowing $@$% up is her middle name. We are rather dedicated to playing together, and will be seen rarely running by ourselves. I personally keep myself easily interested in FPSers when she's not around, and I sometimes wonder what she does when I am not around...
My wife started with LOTRO earlier this year. I caught her playing Zelda on the Wii and introduced her to MMO's. When the game went f2p and required players who wanted the highest stats possible to pony up $50... We quickly left.
Its nice to be back at a real MMO, one that is complex and exciting. I dont remember much and allot has changed. The game is huge, the features are much more extensive. Its exactly what I wanted... A successful MATURED game.
So we started out at level 1, and are now level 11. I am the healer, and my wife is the blaster. My tanking days have been teasing me, but for the most part the desire has left me. My wife loves blaster, and found her class in LOTRO.
Well that's who we are. If you read this much, then maybe we should consider your SG... then again, maybe you dont have a life and ultimately we should run. We wouldn't want anyone stra... wait Im strange... NM! -
Me and My Wife are looking for an Adult (18+) based Super Group with an active Vent or Teamspeak server. We prefer to have a voice based social environment over that of a "supergroup" chat. We are hoping that we can find that. I hope someone knows of a group or is in a group that can help us! Thanks!
