L 47: Hot Feet or Burn?
burn, burn, burn, burn....did i mention burn?
Hot Feet to me is a bit meh on a blaster, its ok for a troller but not for someone who wants to dealing hot flaming arrows of death.
Burn is pure win in the fact you can toast anything that DOES come close to you, hot feet doesn't hurt that much.
That my 2 inf though and someone will probably turn round and say i'm wrong

With Burn's new behaviour it's not a situational power any more.
It's a regularly-firing PBAoE Nuke (maximum # of targets = 5, that's the ONLY downer)
Granted, with Archery/ you'll probably be able to kill nearly anything already with just Rain of Arrows. But for other sets without regular heavy AoE, and particularly on Tankers, it's pretty amazing damage potential. It stacks brilliantly with Fire Sword Circle too, so for most /Fire Blasters it's a very good power pick.
As an Archery/ though, you probably don't want to be in Melee range very often, and you'll likely also want to minimize weapon redraw... With both Rain of Arrows and Fire Sword Circle (with its similar AoE radius but higher target cap compared to Burn), Burn will be kind of superfluous and unhelpful. If this is the case, Hot Feet might be better as it'll do a passable job of keeping foes out of melee range of you (20 foot radius and it does the "run away" type of fear not the "stand still and shudder" type), although it's fairly endurance intensive.
Usually Hot Feet isn't a great Idea for a Fire Blaster as it moves foes out of range of Fire Sword Circle and Burn. It's alright as "extra" tick damage though... and since it also covers a fairly wide area it tends to be a Fire/Kins main source of damage output.
What Mael said, pretty much. Personally, I would choose Hot Feet over burn because unless you plan on being a blapper (and let's face it, blapping is fun sometimes, but perhaps not on an archer), you will get more use out of the "Stay away from me" side effect of Hot feet.
Burn remove immobilization also, so one more vote for burn
"If you want to win you must not lose."
"Easiest way to turn defeat into a victory is to put on the enemy's uniform"
"Better strategic retreat than dishonorable defeat"
Hmm... Perhaps an APP power would be best for you to take at 47?
As with Archery things should ideally not be close to you...
But if the only options are HF or Burn, I'd go for HF if you can afford the endurance usage, Burn if you can't.
Level 47 should be when Rise of the Phoenix unlocks in Flame Mastery. Do you have the two prereqs for it? It's a pretty hand power to have.

Neither power seems like a good choice for your intended playstyle (although I have very limited information to go on, I am extrapolating from your statement that either would be highly situational). I'd recommend something else. I agree with the above poster about Rise of the Phoenix; it is a great power. Bonfire could be quite handy as well since Archery can make a great ranger.
Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
What is your current attack plan ?
Stealth to the center of spawn, Aim, Build Up, Rain of Arrows as a pbaoe, while rain animates Fire Sword Circle ?
Or are you doing something more along the lines as spot spawn, aim, buildup, fire off rain of arrows, kill things as they get to you using /fire ?
If its the first Burn, if the second hotfeet.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys...

as for 'something else'...I'd considered Maneuvers, actually, but i don't know if that's worth it, on a blaster.

IMO between these two, Hot Feet. Even if you don't use it for damage, Hot Feet's ability to make foes Afraid cuts quite a bit of damage. If you don't have Combat Jumping though Burn isn't a bad way to get some -Immob.

Hi,
so, I have a Arch/Fire/Flame Blaster a few missions away from level 47 and can't seem to make up my mind on which of those powers to take.
Both have their advantages, but regardless of which i choose, it would be a highly situational power. Quite frankly, if the game wouldn't force me to take a power at 47, i wouldn't take either of them...i kinda just want to know which is the lesser of two evils ;p
thanks for any insight,
TR
