I have recharge on shriek down to 1.03 seconds, it activates in 1.0 seconds. Maybe it would be viable just to spam shriek for max dps and use mortar (2 most of the time), generator, caltrops and disruption bot running for added dps and -res as well as posion trap for flooring -regen?

If so I could replace scream with howl or something?

I forgot mids does not add hasten to -recharge automatically, I believe shriek will be down to almost excactly 1 second (maybe even less). With the armageddon proc it does better dps than any of the other attacks.

-I'd ditch the two 7.5% run speeds for the 4th LotG's giving you another 18%acc. You have stealth IO in superspeed so if your stealthing a mission or toebombing I assume you have SS running in which case a extra 15%run speed is pointless.

-I know your DPS is best with that single attack and it might be the way to go as a 2nd build. However someone correct me if I'm wrong but the -resistance from the same attack doesnt stack right? So you'd want to stack -resistance from a few different attacks than spam Shriek? I might be totally wrong on this not sure....

-I have no idea where you'd pull slots from but slotting Web Granade for Immoblization pays off when your trying to stack it and attacka at the same time. Maybe underslot something else and see if you can fit the purple Immoblization set in or the Enfeebled for its set bonuses.

-I like your build yet again is shows a different way to soft capping defense Vs. all than the route I usally go. Make a note of this though. I say it all the time carry purple lucks to fight off defense debuffs to ward off a cascade failure. Now look at your build in Mid's and toggle off Scorpion Shield. Your capped to everything already and using lucks like I just mentioned why not try out a different PPP or APP with a +Resistance Shield. I think you'll get better results from that. Having layered Armor is always the way to go if you can +Def, +Res, +Regen, -Dmg, -to-hit.

You have at least one major problem with this build. None of the IOs you have slotted in Vengeance are global IOs, they are all procs. Therefore you won't get the benefit from them unless you use Vengeance (and then only for 120 seconds). And if you're soloing AVs, that will be never. Those procs really do need to go in Health.

Also I find when soloing AVs that endurancs is the largest issue. To maximize endurance with 3 slots in stamina you should have the Performance Shifter: +end, Performance Shifter: end, and one End Mod IO. With 4 slots you should have 4 Performance Shifters.

When I get home I'll throw it in Mids and see if there's anything else that jumps out at me.

Recharge of a power doesn't start until it is done casting. So even with a ~1 sec rech on shriek it means you will be doing nothing for 1 sec while it recharges.

shriek>scream>shriek is a solid chain for traps/son where you throw in traps powers during the gap.

There is no reason to go /scorp app on a traps defender becasuse it is so easy to get your positional def up to 45%. That will give you a lot more protection and allow you to take out a lot more enemies than s/l/e def. Though to be honest the route you have taken is fine for a LOT of AV's.

Personally I'm a fan of /dark app. Even against a single target soul drain adds a lot of damage with high recharge. That said, I do like my spider bot on my fire/traps corr, but if you are picking an epic set specifically for the pet I'd go with soul for the fortunata mistress.

Specifically on your first build:
6 slotting basilisk is pretty pointless. 4 of it and 2 others is better
6 slotting adjusted targetting in aim is pointless as well. Stop at 5
The run speed bonuses you have in a couple powers are not needed. You won't have any issue outpacing your FFG or epic pet as it is.
The procs you have in veng won't do anyting unless you use veng.
acid mortar is not autohit.
6 pieces of doctored wounds is pretty useless as well.
You have no kb protection

Drop a concealment pool power and move an LOTG into Vengeance. Move those slots and procs into health. With new new power slot pick up the AOE root from the patron pool. It helps with traps/sonic so you can finally deal with runners.

PGT should be 4 BG a lockdown proc and a damage proc, or the last slot should be moved somewhere else. Or 5 slots of the purple, and the lockdown proc.

I know people love the AH proc in acid mortar but isn't it a drop in the bucket on a traps/sonic? Consider 6 slotting Shield breaker there for good enhancement and bonuses. It should free up a def set elsewhere. Pick up a second attack. At the very least it will be more useful than a 6 slotted SS. Shriek maybe?

With enough recharge in the build you can have 2 triage beacons out so you don't have to chase regeneration bonuses as it will be a drop in the bucket.

I get what your doing with scorpion shield. It's you def debuff protection against Romans On that note you only need slashing, energy and the 3 positional types at or over the soft cap not every typed.

I worked around your shriek shriek concept but moved redundant powers and slots around or out. Also got how fit in there 5 slotted and kept you the posi in caltrops (ugh) ! If you can lose the recharge from that posi you could slot an another attack. The sad part is that this is close to my build on defense totals and I have both immobilisers slotted as well as shriek, shout, howl, and scream.

I found an old thread thread theorycrafting on optimal chains for defender sonic attacks. It isn't about DPA since defenders have low damage anyways. It's about stacking the debuff in a sustainable chain. Something like shriek, shout, shriek scream gives highest amount of debuffung across a sustained chain (I think someone will correct me on that I'm sure). Think I remember silveraldo stating shriek shout shriek (something else that does damage from an app) repeat would be the highest for a defender. If I can find the thread I'll post it.

If I'm not mistaken it was Electric Fence. I'd also point out Screech while minimal damage is the longest duration -resist debuff in the bunch. Forget what the consensus was in the thread Late2Party is referring to about Electric Fence (and Screech) vs other, but Electric Fence in one of my Emp/Sonic/Elec builds has another significant advantage. It's an immobilize that you can spam very rapidly that deals enhanceable damage. In the Purple/IO'd build for my Emp it puts out about 129 damage (2 damage procs averaged in and ED capped damage) in under 3 seconds before the -resistance debuffs are accounted for and can do so at a range of around 70ft (which is also the range on her Howl and only 10ft less than Scream and Shriek).
