IO Sets and MM

Hi Folks,

I was just trying to find some information regarding IO set bonuses and MM pets. If I have a set bonus that is +Dmg or +Acc for example, will that buff my pets damage and accuracy or will it only work on my powers that directly hit an opponent.

Working on what I want my build to be and the built would drastically change depending on this mechanic.

Any help is appreciated!

The set bonuses apply only to you, so generally, global damage bonuses aren't too helpful. However, global accuracy can be nice to shoot for, IF your secondary and/or epic powers make lots of accuracy checks, and IF you don't have Tactics (Leadership).

The most useful set bonuses to shoot for are dependent on your goals and your secondary. What primary/secondary do you use? If you have lots of really juicy powers on long cool-down timers, then global recharge can be really great. Here are some powers that are always nice with lots of extra recharge:

Gang War, Hell on Earth
Howling Twilight, Dark Servant
World of Pain, Anguishing Cry, Painbringer
Noxious Gas
Freezing Rain, Tornado, Lightning Storm
Heat Exhaustion, Melt Armor
Triage Beacon, Acid Mortar, Poison Trap, Seeker Drones
Acid Arrow, Disruption Arrow, Oil Slick Arrow, EMP Arrow

Then again, some sets provide defense and so you might be better off going for global defense so that you can be soft-capped to defense. Traps and FF are good sets for this.

Good luck!

OTOH, if you're a MM who like to run a lot of toggles, +Recovery can be helpful.

I use several leadership toggles, Dispersion Bubble, sometimes Scorpion Shield and I also like to make frequent use of Web Envelope and Force Bolt while fighting. +Recovery helps out with this.

Also, if you have to re-summon a lot (Ninja, Zombies?) then I'd think +Recovery would also help there.

I play as Thug/Pain

My usual Strategy (Though it can change given the situation) is to set my pets to defensive and then hover right above the main battle line and heal.

I find that the defensive pets give me the damage mitigation needed to survive in the front and it allows me to use all my auras and my AoE heals on the frontline. One something hits me the pets go nuts on the enemy but stay defensive =)

Since damage is not a concern with sets I may look to defense and effect protection then (as well as recovery of course)
