SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

So I've started posting up my art on DA as a place to store it in case I ever find someone to color these duck-faced beasts for me. I drew another today. This is a pic of another character of mine, a plant controller named Clinique, real name Eve.

That "aww...do you have a boo boo?" one is really weird. Was that done by a young kid or something? I'd understand if that were the case. =q

The one in the glass is good.

Heroids style is actually reminiscent of the Sunday comics of old, like Shoe or the Wizard of Id, he's come a long way from when he first started posting his arts here on the Virtue boards I'm really happy to see he kept it up and I think the Boo Boo picture is cute as heck ^^

I think that comment was unnecessarily rude. You can critique a piece of art without resorting to personal attacks against the artist.

It wasn't a personal attack. Oftentimes when it comes to awkward artwork, it's done by a child or very young person. A lot of times when people critique art "too harshly" they get the artist's age thrown back in their face, "He's only 10, so I think that's pretty good for his age!"

((I did the "Boo boo" one. I did it in a cartoony style, yes, because I wanted it to be playful. I work in a variety of styles, in varying degrees of cartoony-comic-bookiness. I'm 51, and personally, I think my Nurse White drawing was pretty good for my age. ))

((Well said Heroid! :sticks her tongue out at Prevalen for being a Jerk: I like that drawing of Nursey its cute and quirky as well as slightly pervy As for the Butt pose Jack your absolutely right, I need to work on my foreshortening technique and my technical drawing skill now, that pop gun is atrocious! ))

So I managed to get lucky and snagged one of the 10 slot spots on Daggerpoints $10 commission list. He did an amazing job on capturing Seri's face as I see it in my head with no links for reference at all and the pensive expression on her face really suits her with all the worry and cares which surround the character. All told I love it!

Jack you inspired me! Here's a new pic of Pearl White, Lizzy's little sister a sword toting school girl of epic proportions... literally.

Ok, so I just got my brand new Wacom tablet two days ago and this is my first drawing that I did of Nurse White now in full Technicolor!

As you can see I fixed the weird foot, and I still need to add a background but over all I like it.

I'm glad to see you enjoying your tablet! The piece came out great for something you are only just experimenting with! I cant wait to see what you do with your other pieces.

I really am enjoying picking up the pencil/pen and brush again, though getting used to using the tablet is proving to be interesting, as I still need to find out how to access and use all the nifty tricks of the trade, so far however I am ecstatic just to be drawing again. I was drawing since I had enough motor functions as a child to grip a crayon and basically didn't stop until a trauma in my late teens made me hang up my canvas and pick up writing and playing the guitar, so this has really been like finding an old friend for me.

I'm still very rusty but I'm finding with every day that goes by I'm regaining my old skills and learning new short cuts (because really that's what a lot of drawing is, are a series of clever little short cuts), but because I'm still rusty I'm a bit shy about really putting myself out there which is why I haven't started a thread in the art forums and decided to post my burgeoning come back here on the Virtue forums where I'm more comfortable and where a lot of my friends can check out my comic book super hero CoX pin up obsession while they are trolling from work or home. I currently have a few new pieces, a Scarlet Witch sketch and a Scarlet Johansen as Black Widow face shot which I am proud of and still need to put up somewhere hopefully sometime today.

Maybe once I start to feel secure in myself I'll start doing commissions but for right now I'm just happy to be drawing again and I hope everyone is enjoying checking out my little duck faced creations when I put them up.
