What do you look for in an SG / VG?

Something like that's pretty okay, yeah. The only big place I've run into problems in the past is weekly meetings, really. Committing to one of four times in a single month isn't too bad, but committing to a single night every week just does not stand up to the chaos that is my schedule. Mostly because I already have about four commitments per week.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Agreed, Its unfair of any online group to ask their members to commit to so much time during the week. An SG should be something which adds to your regular gaming experience not detracts from your everyday life. The player and the group should act in a symbiotic relationship where the SG runs because of the players interest, and the players interest is fueled by the SG.

I once quit a well paying Job which asked me to chose my Job over my Family, so why would I ever be willing to do the same for an SG? When I'm at work I promise upon taking the Job to be at work at a certain time and leave at a certain time and provide my professional services accordingly.

An SG should not dictate to me, or to anyone else. As an SG leader yes running an SG can feel sometimes like a second Job, but that's only if your holding on to too many of the reins of control. If you find yourself in a position where you are putting the same amount of worry and effort into a game as you are into real life, its time to take a step back and re-analyze what it is you are getting out of both the game and the super group.

To many leaders think that they have to do everything in order for the SG to be fun, and then when they start having a nervous break down and expecting to much they get grumpy, paranoid and elitist and end up driving everyone away from the SG that they worked so hard at to begin with.

After all who wants to spend their game time with an obsessive psycho?

At least the weekly SG nights is completely how I judge activity a lot...most of us have too many characters and commitments to have spontanous teaming or RP going on every night of the week, if you can't at least get enough people together for a non-manditory once a week time to team and RP and stuff, you're not really an active group.

See I only play during the weekends myself, as I have an 11 hour work day and a family to spend time with. So how I would like to set things up for the SG I'm forming is to have 2 officers whom play during the week running missions with SG members when they are in game, this way there is always something going on, then during the weekends myself and other officers running raids, TF's, and PVP matches etc so that there is always something going on. I've done this with SG's / guilds in the past and it worked quite well. Just hard finding reliable officers with the skill and enthusiasm to run the teams.
