Devs: Why can't you just add more memory and processing power to Freedom?

Nonono.

The issue is that 32-bit Windows can only allot 2GB of memory to any given single process (this includes 32-bit programs running in a 64-bit WOW (Windows On Windows) environement).

Realistically though, after about 1.5GB gets allotted, some programs can behave erratically. CoH is one of these.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

This is right. CoH used to crash for me all the time when it hit around 1.5G

The reason I say "used to" is because it seems GR has made it a little more stable (for me). I frequently see the usage hit 1.5G without a problem. It isn't until it gets to about 1.8G that I run into problems now... which is not very often at all.

The difference i notice with the release of GR is rubber banding.

An the map server errors seem about the same as they where before.

Haven't we always suggested /unloadgfx, since some have been lead to believe that it does removes some of the cached map & etc. data? Doing that usually slows down my crashing, which seems inevitable on my 64-bit laptop.
