Travel Powers for pets.

I still wouldn't say 'no one', because that's a lot of no one.
Sorry, posting with lack of sleep FTW.
What I meant to say was the devs data mined and no one was actuallly USING the Tier 1 power. |
But that a majority weren't using it is a much more viable arguement

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Okay I will. Mission says kill 50 Carnie. Let's say I'm at the Portal Corp when I get the mission after calling my contact. First thing I do is look at my map and see that Carnies can be found in Poseidan Square, Bayside Docks, Curry Cove, Nelson Borough, and Mera Heights.
The problem is that when you're given something to streethunt, pretty much 90% of your time is spent looking for the damn things. Just imagine hunting 50 Carnies in Peregrine Island on a Mastermind. You'd have to fight the entire zone ten times over before you were even half-way through. On a good day.
Outdoor missions, yeah, I'm with you on that one. You're there to kill stuff, so keeping track of your henchmen is part of game balance. But with overworld hunting, I disagree, because a large part of overworld hunting is travelling and NOT fighting. |
Lets see if I choose to go through each city block looking for Carnies I will probably fly overhead until I spot them, land on an empty roof or clear spot, summon my henchmen in safety and then attack, Once I've cleaned out an area of the targets I'm looking for I'll either wait for the enemy to respawn or I'll dismiss my henchmen and move to another location and start over. There's no place on a zone map where I can't find a safe spot to resummon and buff my henchmen in under a minute.
Another effective tactic would be to summon my in the water and move in from there making amphibious assaults on the Carnies, and swimming around the island if I needed to make further attacks.
Now if the problem I am having is that my teammates refuse to give me the 30 sec to a minute I need to summon and buff my henchmen before attacking then I have a very simple solution to that problem. If I have the star I kick the a-holes, if I'm not the leader I quit the team. The problem there isn't with MM's it's with players acting like jerks.
If I'm on one of my Masterminds I'm a 7 man team all by myself. My characters don't need other players, they need my character. MM's can steamroller over everything all by themmselves.

Why are you trying to scout under full invis with summoned henchmen? Dismiss them and scout to your hearts content then summon them in a strategically advantageous position and attack from there. Depending on your level it takes less than 30 seconds to summon all of your henchmen and another 30 seconds to buff them if your running a bubbler that can only buff one character at a time. If your only using the primary MM buffs it take maybe ten seconds because they are global and one buff, buffs all the henchmen.
Well if the stupid critters would actually do what you TELL them to you might have a case.
I believe someone earlier in this thread (or it was in another thread about wanting to command Controller/Dominator pets) attempted to imply that the MM Henchmen were intelligent so you could give them orders. If they are that intelligent they should OBEY those orders. If I tell them to Stay I should be able to go full invis and scout to my heart's content instead of having to worry I'm going to hit the end of some invisible tether and have my henchies all TP to me in full sight of a mob. I'm all for having challenges in the game, but I prefer those challenges to be based on using tactics and figuring out puzzles in game, not overcoming artificial limitations of whatever system I'm trying to work around (which is what I do for a living). |
Blerg, more lack of sleep. It's not been a good week for zzzzz's at my house. Thought I'd correct that too.

And another minute or 2 to recover Endurance, even with some slotting in the 2 buff powers.

Now quit picking nits and cover the other scenarios.

and what is it that you need to do other then order your pets to attack? maybe throw a debuff out? not a big problem. let the pets do the work.
Why on earth would it take another minute or two to recover endurance? Are you constantly running toggle powers? Storm Summoning is the only secondary that is an end hog. Pop a CaB or a TaB if your anal about your endurance bar. Besides your running a Mastermind. Your main attack powers are your henchmen. Their attacks don't drain your end. You can stand back and let them do their job while you recover endurance.
