Crab Soft-Cap with -RES fun

Been messing around with MIDS based on some builds here. Trying to get a soft-capped (all positionals) Crab that can run the Venom - Arctic - Bile - Supression cone-of-death chain.

Not wedded to pets or Omega. This is what I've come up with, but it feels a bit gimp. Any suggestions?

being softcapped to everything isn't the be all end all. I found that striking a balance between defense and offense is the best compromise. As a for instance , you get virtually nothing from those Detonation sets other than a little defense, whereas positrons blast give you much nicer bonuses.

This is my build. I am quite happy killing on x8 missions without my pets, but the pets speed things up.

Thanks. I think conceptually on 0/+8 i'm thinking enough mobs will run up to me that soft-capping melee would be a good idea. Also not sure pets really can survive that kind of onslaught.

I wanted to run the Venom + Arctic + Bile + Supression chain (cones of death). Yeh, i could easily build that w/ just soft-capped Ranged, but hoping to see if there's a non-gimp way to do with melee & Aoe.

I changed my own Build a bit to make Place for Sharks/Arctic/Bile. It's not perfect, think there are some Slots that can be moved, see it as Example-Build. For higher Recharge take some LotGs, but keep in mind that END is never enough if you want to fight without downtimes. I took also Heavy Burst from the Soldierpool to get 1 more Cone Attack. Maybe this Build helps a bit. Should be easy to change some Attackpowers, if you like, without loosing Softcap.

I think you're putting too much value in soft capping your defenses. If you're doing +0/8 you need to just power them down before they have time to get to you. Here's an approximate copy of my current character. +0/8 is a complete joke.

Thanks Atago, I will check it out. May move some slots around -- I've seen people slot Arctic with the full debuff set for bonuses, for example. gimme a few days to play with it.

Mmmmm, really don't know if this is a worthwhile change. With all the ACC and +Tohit and Defdebuffs you already have you don't really miss, but with the Defdebuff-Set in Arctic you will loose nearly half of it's Damage.


P.S. With Softcap and all the Debuffs you're able to solo +2/x8 and +3/x8. So forget about doing 0/x8 Mishs:-)

Some of these builds are nice but I dont see any travel powers. Are you using temp travel powers or something else?
