CoH not connecting on free wifi networks

When I am away from my house wifi i would like to play CoH as much as possible (of course). There are several times during the day when I come in the area of free wifi: Malls, Panera Bread restaurants, and college campuses. Now, I can connect to the network on my Mac just fine, but when I launch CoH it just sits at the "Connecting..#1" and then of course tries all the others "Connecting..#2...3...4..5..etc" How can I get CoH to connect so I can play? Any solutions?

Hey! That's a great point and i think that is the reason i can't connect on my school's network.

Manga's terminal work around works great and it's a very handy code to have. I tried it in my mall and that connected perfectly. I haven't tried my local Panera again yet :P but i have tried my school and what happens is that the game loads, passing the updater and then when i get to the log in screen it wont let me log on. It's that standard message you get when the servers are down "It may be due to a local network issue, firewall block, or the servers are down for maintenance" one. So i suppose like you said, i will not be able to play on the school network because they block stuff like that. oh well :'( But i can at other places thanks to Manga's terminal work around for Mac
let me know if you all have any other ideas that i can try, i'll be happy to give it a go!

Here's another thing I've found when trying to connect from places like hotels, or airport terminals; there's a splash page with a user agreement that you have to click through before they grant access to the general internet. After accepting, I was able to connect to the game. So try launching a browser first, and going to a common page like google.com, and see if there's a check box you have to accept before you get access.
