Elec Melee/Regen or Energy Melee/Regen?

I am about to finish my first Stalker a DM/Nin, have had a great time playing him. I thought with GR now here I'd give another Stalker a go. I decided on Regen as my secondary, so I'm up in the air about Elec or Energy. I have a Elec melee brute that kicks butt, but have never gotten a Energy Melee anything very high. So my experience with Energy Melee is lacking. So my question is Elec Melee/Regen or Energy Mele/regen for a stalker and why?

EM on a click heavy secondary like Ninjitsu is going to cause frustation due to Animation lock Death.

After playing a single target heavy set like Dark Melee, I would recommend trying Elec Melee instead.

You may very well never return to the single target stalker doldrums.

So you both would prefer Elec Melee/ Regen over Energy Melee/Regen? I can see the benefits of Elec Melee over Energy Melee for teaming as there is some AoE, but on a stalker I'm ok with single Target damage, as I will prolly solo a stalker more than team with him. I Might make both and run them for a bit to see which I like. Was just looking for opiions on how everyone felt about the sets.

If you do Energy Melee/ anything be prepared to solo a lot. You will feel fairly useless on teams because in the time it takes you to animate any of your heavy hitter attacks (AS, ET, TF) the spawn is already dead.
If you like to team, go Elec Melee.

I use my elec/ninjitsu for teaming or solo. I can easily take on mishes spawned for 4 to 6 usually. I rarely find that I'm lacking in either ST or AoE damage with him. I haven't paired it with Regen though, so YMMV.

Elec Melee is, in my opinion, the best teaming primary a stalker can invest in. I run on an Elec/Nin build but I don't see the */Regen piece being a deal breaker. The real power of elec resides not only in it's epic AoE potential but also in the way in which it delivers that AoE.

My attack chain begins with Telestrike(tm) for the lucious AoE dmg and the knockdown. The important aspect of this power for a stalker is that it DOESNT BREAK YOUR stealth. This allows you to then lanch another attack while still "hidden" and score crit hits en masse with your next AoE attack (I like to follow up with ball lightning). This should destroy most minions (assuming you used build up prior to attack) and let you focus on the LT and bosses still standing. I usually placate a boss and AS it. You may find that you like to placate than then use a 3rd AoE for further mass crits.

The I12 stalker changes and the introduction of ElecMelee finally got me to play a stalker. Working on an Elec/Regen now in the mid thirties who's tons of fun. Elec on stalkers and brutes never really worked for me, but since stalkers have that awesome single target damage already using an AoE focused set is the way to go. Regen has been pissing me off but that's really my fault. You have to be proactive and hit those heals before your health drops too far or you die in animation.
