Bug - I broke my pets :(

Thugs mastermind lvl 47

They were slow to get to me in Grandville, so I fired off Assemble the Team, and they appeared in a straight line. Then they stood there and wouldn't do anything, no matter what I tried. They vocalize responses when I give commands, but will not act on them. I have tried dismissing - they say "I'm outta here!" and then stay there. I have tried zoning - they appear at the ferry ramp, and just stand there. I have tried logging, and even restarting entirely - they appear as soon as I do, fully buffed, standing in the same straight line, and still will not respond.

What to do?

Try logging into a character on a different server and come back to your mastermind. That might break it up.

This is a rare bug that shows up periodically. When it happened to me, I

1. Did the dismiss first. ("I'm outta here")

2. Then logged out and logged back in. I could then resummon and control them normally.

If you log out and log in with out the dismiss, the minions will reappear. You have to dismiss first. Make sure you don't resummon while they are still there.

I had the same issue today as the OP. The endless minor MM bugs are annoying.

I tried "/petcom_all dismiss", and they said they were returning to base, and left my pet window, but just stood there. Then someone told me to try something else, I think /releasepets maybe, and they all fell over.

Amusingly, I'd tried going into a building to deal with this, and when I came back out of AE, there they were, running along empty air as though it were a road, making a beeline for the door. Despite not even being my pets anymore. Crazy robots!

The /release_pets command usually works for me.

This happened to me way back when i17 was released. I would tell them to follow me or attack and they did nothing. Then I told them to dismiss, but seeing as how that is also a pet command, I figured it wouldn't work either and it didn't. /release_pets simply kills all the pets under your control; it doesn't just tell them to go away, it tells them to take a cyanide pill and drop dead. After that just re-summon and you're good to go.

Also, if you notice your pets don't come out when you summon them, give the /release_pets command a go before trying again. It will kill the pets that aren't in the pet window, but still under your command somewhere in the zone.
