AA or Ambient Oclusion?

In light of the bug, which do you prefer to have on?

I have an ATI 5870 and enabling both AA and AO creates a dovetail-like effect on corners. It's a known issue with 5000 series cards

So if you had to choose one, which would it be? Everytime I start leaning towards AO for the immersive lighting effects, I notice a horrible-looking stairway that is serious need of AA.

I do not have that problem anymore on the 10.7 drivers using a 5850. It fixed that issue for me.

I wonder if the problem now only affects the 5870s?

Have you tried having both on using the latest (10.7) drivers?

I noticed in another thread it sounds like you are waiting for the 10.8s.

Upgrade to the 10.7 drivers. AA+AO works fine on my 5850.
