The Origin Game

Hey all, I wanted to make a thread meant purely for fun; it's a game of sort. The way it works is that one person posts the origin of one of their favorite heroes/villains and then the someone else guesses what build they are.

Reason I've decided to make this thread is because there are plenty of talented writers in our community and many times I find myself (in-game) reading the bios of my teammates during downtime, then thinking to myself, "That was a real delight to read." So I figured why not make a thread on the forums but just give it a twist and transform it into a game.

If you want to play than great, but here's how it works. Someone posts their Heroes/Villain's origin, along the way including subtle hints in the origin as to what they might be. The first person to come along and correctly guess the Poster's build gets to add their origin story next. However, if the previous poster doesn't return to confirm that the person has guessed right within approximately 24 hours, than the next origin story is up for grabs. Simple enough.

Also, if you feel confident enough, I dare say you could try and guess whether the poster is Magic, Natural, Science, etc. One more thing thing to point out, you don't have to post the name of your Hero/Villain if it obviously gives away their build (i.e. Frozen Fire); it's just nice to have a name behind the story is all. So, here's hoping this thread will attract alot of unique and interesting bios. Now, I'm no writer, but seeing as how I'm the first person here, I guess I'll be the one to start.

Magic Origin (Cursed) Dual Blades/Willpower Scrapper.

My decision was a toss-up between regen and willpower, but the focus on 'Enduring Pain' in particular fits into the powers available to wp moreso than regen. Determining the AT came down to the bit where Azon is 'take every corrupted soul with me,' which inherently implies a hero. Which leaves us with either a tanker or a scrapper toss-up, which I admit I just guessed at.

Interesting. Certainly agree on the Dual Blades and Scrapper, but I'm thinking that the secondary is Dark Armour or Invuln.

So my guess: DB/DA Scrapper, Magic Origin.

I think I'm going to go with a Dark Armour/Dual Blades Tank, Magic origin.

The emphasis seems to be more on the punishment he can take as opposed to the damage he can dish out, but as he wants to die I don't think Willpower quite fits. I'm going with DA as that seems to suit the cursed aspect better than Invulnerability.

I have to agree with the magic origin and dark armor. However I'm actually thinking Broadsword.

He says he couldn't feel it when he drove the blade not blades through his heart. It's a small thing to be sure, but this world is made up of small things.

So my guess is BS/DA scrapper of magic origin.

I was born and I was made. Where I was, there was war, and I was a tool of it. My masters, cruel as they were, had enough kindness within their dark souls to grant me that which comes first: They gave me life. My very design was not considerate of my form. The potential energy of specific movements was redirected to reshape, cut, shear and manipulate my very structure in order to strike down my foes with crushing force. My body itself is a durable, self-repairing hyperstructure. I slew thousands. I died once. But my dark masters had made an error during my birth, my construction. And so before I died, I earned memory. I remembered, and my eyes which never truly died surveyed the battlefield for millennia. And through the ages my memory coalesced into something new. I had earned thought. And with thought came outrage at my predicament, the predicament of my kin as they marched mindlessly to war. My fury knew no boundaries, and Death itself fled as I rose from that forsaken battlefield.

I have earned life, memory, thought, and now freedom.

And now I seek to earn a name. And then, once I have one, I shall crush the oppressors who created me. With nothing more than what they designed me with, and my very thoughts to hold me aloft, I fight.

Was hoping to give this thread a few days to breathe and come back to see how it's been going, looks like my goal hasn't been accomplished. But oh well, so to guess your build PS, I'm going to say...

Kinetic Melee/Regeneration Scrapper/Stalker.

Regeneration is pretty obvious to me from your quote "durable, self repairing hyperstructure" however, Willpower also comes to mind as Regen isn't neccesarily "durable." I guessed KM due to this one "The potential energy of specific movements was redirected" My guess is that this hero or villain is fairly new, and is of course the Technology origin. So, how'd I do?

Wow, he was wrong? I was actually scratching my head at the offensive set but figured Regeneration was the defensive set.

Another note you forgot, Rowdy, is that use of the word 'Fury' at the end...might be a tip off...

But I'm not confident enough to guess specific ATs. I'm going to keep my guess vague and say:
Claws melee
Darkness Armor

I'm actually going to suggest Kinetic Melee/Willpower Brute.

Regen isn't terribly durable, it just puts itself back together, while Will has some durability built in (DR/Def/HP Boost)
