Scrapper Help

I am new to the world of Scrappers. I have played either Tanks or Blasters for the last two years and have never tried them. With the launch of GR, I was interested in a KM Scrapper with either Dark or Shield as a secondary. Can someone give me some sage advice on this and tell me if there is a better set than this. Thanks

Honestly, the best sets happen to be the one you find most fun. Fun characters invest you emotionally and will see the most playing time.

KM works with a lot of secondaries. Actually just about all scrapper primaries and secondaries work well, though some are more optimal than others. KM has -dmg as a secondary effect so any secondary that benefits from that will be good - which is essentially just about all of them.

If you're planning to level this up in Praetoria, I'd suggest regen or WP for a good first time scrapper. Regen because you can pick up quick recovery at level 4 and not worry about running out of end. WP because it's a solid secondary that's good with just SOs, newbie friendly and works well in the latter parts of the game if you choose to invest it full of IOs.

As for myself, I started a KM/Fire Armor character just to check out the new sets. I have no idea whether or not I'll be keeping the character or not, but I've already started to hate the Syndicate blade adepts with a passion. The KM/Regen character I had in beta fared much better. But KM/Fire may be a late bloomer.

Yeah don't get lost in the world of what is best for others, just do fun, enjoy concepts rather than try to prove any e-peeny points.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

I'm still a fan of Super Reflexes. It's powerful at level cap, has cool animations, isn't expensive to soft cap, and is thematically nifty.

The downside is that it hits a few trouble spots while leveling traditionally, and is a bit endurance hungry until you have things nicely slotted. You can easily get around the trouble spots in leveling now with AE and droppable radio missions, and if you don't mind spending a few million frankenslotting with IOs, your endurance won't be such a big deal either.

Here Here! One of the better statements I've read in a while. People get so caught up in min/maxing and power-gaming, they forget to have fun.

But to answer the question, KM combines well with all the scrapper secondaries. It does seem to combine better with resistance sets because of the -dmg in the set. But like Deuce, I'm still a big fan of Super Reflexes. Conceptwise it flows nicely together especially if you customize together with the right colors. Better to die in style than do mediocre and look boring.

But I'm also levelling up a KM/Elec that seems to be handling business in the lower levels. I'm definitely interested to see how it does higher and once I slot it.

Go with makes you happy, whether it's from a numbers view and/or a concept one. =)
