A good solo/group friendly AT?
Frankly imo you won't find any AT better than demon/pain for it's versatility low lvls and it gets real good after 32 with both upgrades. Stronger AT's all have holes early on.
That reminds me.
I will be playing with a Ninja/Poison MM as a duo partner most of the time.
While nearly any MM combo will be strong from 1 to 50, it's a more niche AT and might not be your cup of tea.
If your looking for a well rounded team AT that can solo extremely fast I'd say try:
Fire/Ice Blaster.
Strong right out of the box and only gets better, once the mitigation tools are available soloing is a breeze and all your AOE's will make you very liked on teams.
For me, Blasters start off strong from 1-16, then hit a slump waiting on Stamina at 20, then the skies the limit!
Brutes, depending on the combo, can either start off feeling really strong or really weak. All comes down to fury generation and defense.
Scrappers all solo well and are useful in teams, however I have less experience with them so not sure how early they start to shine.
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
Well I don't think you can call mm's niche AT's they can fill many different roles.
I think "niche" in this context meant "most players don't like that style of play". /Dev blasters, Force Field defenders would be two examples of niche play.
My suggestion for something that starts strong and stays strong would be a Rad/Sonic defender; a Sonic/Rad corruptor SHOULD be very similar but sometimes the small apparent differences end up making a large actual difference. (80% resistance and 90% seems like a small difference, but it ends up meaning you take twice the damage. For instance.)

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
Ok fair enough.
Hey everyone
I am very new to CoX, having played back in the earlier days. I just returned up to Going Rogue, and I am loving the game so far. One problem though, I am having a kind of tough time finding the AT for me, since it seems alot of ATs mature very late in the game. I am looking for some suggestions as to what AT I should try out. So far I have played a Demon/Pain MM and Fire/Dark Corr to 20, and also tried out other types (tried alot of controllers till about 12). I am looking for an AT that is fun from early levels, that can solo well when I just feel like relaxing and offer something to teams aswell when I want that. Having a long history (10+ years) in MMOs I know that its important that the AT is very good at high levels aswell, so thats important aswell. I have looked at scrappers, they seem to come highly recommended on the boards, but I am open to all suggestions. Hopefully this post can get me some of those. |
If you want to try another controller, take a look at my Illusion/Radiation guide. An Ill/Rad starts out with good single target control and damage (Blind, Spectral Wounds, Deceive) and the early Rad buff and debuffs. These make it great both solo and on teams. Then comes Phantom Army at 18 and Spectral Terror at 26, providing tanking, aggro control and AoE control. Ill/Rad can do a little bit of almost everything for solo, small teams or large teams.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)
