Dual Pistols without redraw?

hi there!

i tried playing a DP/Kin Corr, and while I generally like it, the constant need to redraw my pistols is a PITA and sucking the fun out of it for me.

can anyone help me out by letting me know of some DP compliments that WON'T force me to redraw my pistols?

it can be for any of the ATs with DP.

You will always have to deal with redraw on any weapon based set pairing (other then Arch/TA). But some pairings can really limit the amount of times you need to alternate clicking between primary and secondary skills. Kinetics is the worst. Here are two of the best IMO.

I'd look into a DP/Sonics Corruptor or a Sonics/DP Defender. You have an ally targeted -resist debuff that you put on a Tank/Scrapper/Brute and forget about, granting potent force multiplication and zero redraw. You cast shields every 4 minutes between combat and run a powerful toggle aura that grants +resistance and mez protection. Of your remaining powers, the Mez protection ally buff is situational, you can opt to just use the single target -resistance debuff on AVs/GMs/EBs, and Liquefy is a skill that you drop just once at the beginning of combat.

Another equally good pairing is */Radiation/* (Cor/Def). You basically drop your three most powerful debuffs of Radiation Infection, Enervating Field, and Lingering Radiation at the beginning of combat, then attack constantly. You won't be doing too much juggling of skills mid combat-- just debuff first, then attack non-stop.

Unless you're Blapping, Blasters I believe use their secondary powers far less often than Corruptors or Defenders.
Whenever I do need to redraw, I can just flip through the air first to keep moving.

It's also worth noting that rad debuff toggles don't cause redraw (because they're... you know, toggles)

How do they not cause redraw when you turn those toggles on?

right now i think Rad is in the lead, as i've already played Sonic and don't feel like shielding people with this char.

Ok, here's the test for today: Grab a DP whatever character, shoot an enemy, then turn on a toggle and shoot another enemy. Reply with whether redraw occurred.

DP/Fire
Shoot something, turn on Hot Feet, shoot something. No redraw.
Turn on Tough, no redraw. Weave and Frozen Armor. No redraw. CJ, no redraw.

Kat/Inv scrapper.
Cut something, turn in Unyielding, cut something, No redraw.
Tough, Weave, CJ, and Invincibility the same.

Make new Rad/DP defender. Take RI and Pistols. Shoot something, wait for pistols to recharge, RI enemy then shoot again. No redraw.


Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.

For what it's worth, I know my rad/sonic defender doesn't redraw the blackwand after casting toggles.

I sometimes pull out the blackwand as a prop, more or less, just to walk around with it. I also noticed that the toggle on animations were different with the blackwand drawn.

The 2 hand hammering animation for turning on Hot Feet keeps whatever weapon was in my hands before the animation started - so I don't see any visual redraw; I don't know for sure if it actually takes extra time afterwards though.
