Fire/Kin/Stone always getting mezzed...

Hey - long time reader, first time post . I've been playing CoX for a long time now, have several lvl 50s (only one lvl 50 troller though - an ill/rad). I have a lvl 42 fire/kin that I enjoy playing, but have been getting very frustrated with how often I get mezzed! I'm having a great time fighting the scum out there, then I get stunned/held/looked at funny, and my toggles drop. Soon after I end up faceplanting if I'm not careful.

I still feel like this is a powerful toon, but that big gaping mez hole gets me frustrated. I never had that much of a problem with my ill/rad (my only other high lvl troller).

What do you other fire/kins out there do to help vs. that? Do I just need to suck up and lrn2play?

Thanks!

Get rock armor and get enough smash/lethal defensive set bonuses (get used to buying those expensive Kinetic Combat sets) so they add up to 45%. That will help some.

However, it is not the panacea that some players claim it is. In the upper level game, exotic damage types abound. Stuff like Carnie illusionists and Tarantula Mistresses will laugh at that useless poo armor. The best way to not get mezzed is to mez them first and rely on your controls, judicious inspiration use and knowing when to pick your spots. Defense does help some, but it won't cover up bad play.

I always get a chuckle when I see farm spec'ed fire/kin/stone trollers try to do normal content. Most of these guys have been PL'ed and they're used to only certain sorts of behaviors from the mobs they're facing. It's hilarious to watch them do the fire cages and jump in the middle with hot feet thing against a large group of +2 Arachnos or Malta.

The Psionic Mastery Epic pool has Indomitable Will, a 90-second mez protection click power, with a base 360-second recharge. But you'd have to give up your current epic, which would probably mean a reduction in damage output.

Higher S/L defense will help keep you alive, but in general won't stop you from getting mezzed. I have a soft-capped corruptor that's always getting mezzed, even though the mobs can't always hit him to do damage.

The best thing to do is carry lots of Break Free insps, and be sure to convert less useful ones to BFs as needed. I always keep a full column on my squishies (2-4). They're real life savers.

I run a Purpled out F/K/Stone soft capped S/L and hardly notice mezzes however tonight i ran the 2nd Respec trial and noticed on the 3rd and 4th mishes respectivly that i was getting mezzed quite a bit but it wasnt anything i wasnt prepared for had 2 rows of BF's.

To give ya a prespective i soloed the first 2 mishes while my team was still standing at the entrance to the mish trying to gether themselves. Occasionally i died but was putting out just as much dmg as the scrappers were and was eating alpha strikes like they where nothing. So know your opponent and what youll be fighting and you shouldnt have any problems at all. What i guess im getting at is once your S/L soft capped you shouldnt have to worry about much and always plan ahead so you dont have to worry about things when they happen like being mezzed.

If you know you're going against opponents with mez powers, why not just let your imps absorb the alpha. You probably want to get a stealth IO so they will see your pets first.
