What to pair (duo) with a Ill/Rad?

Hey all,

Well, I'm looking for something to pair with a Ill/Rad, can be any AT or whatever, if given a choice what would YOU put with it?

I'd personally go with a Fire/Dark corr...

oh wait, GR isn't out yet! FFFFFUUUUU

No seriously, wait until GR hits, then get a Fire/Dark (or Rad/Dark) corr for your duo. This way, you have the useful controller and debuff of Dark complimenting Ill/Rad's already healthy supply of both. Fire or Rad will provide more AoE damage. Pick which ever one you want.

I would go with another Ill/Rad. You get double AM (Accelerate Metabolism) for more recharge and recovery and damage, etc. You also get 2 sets of Phantom Army, so you can always have them out, even if you guys are only SOs.

If that doesn't do it for you, then you might consider a controller with an AOE Immobilize as a team-mate. Again, I think double Rads would be best, but the AOE Immob from another controller would let the Illusion/Rad leverage containment from his Ancillary AOE attack(s). Fire/Rad would be nice for this. Additionally, you'd have Stuns to add in the mix for the foes that resist the confuse and fear from Illusion.

You could always go with a Traps/* Defender. With Going Rogue coming out in a couple of days, you could also do a */Traps Corruptor or */Traps mastermind. I think the quasi-control-heavy nature of Traps would blend well with Rad, not to mention all the debuff goodness. Then you'd have straight out damage from whatever you pair with Traps.

You could just decide that the control from Illusion/Rad is enough and then go with an all-out damage AT (Scrapper, Blaster, Brute).

Actually, you could probably pair it with anything and have fun, especially if you are doing a duo with a friend. Whatever he wants to do will work.

Oh, if you are dual-boxing, Traps may not be the best option because it requires a lot more effort (if you are driving the Illusion/Rad). In that case, Illusion/Rad or Fire/Rad or maybe Illusion/FF or a */FF Mastermind would be good "auto follow" dual-boxing options.

I run a LOT of duo's and one of the best I ever ran was a pair of Illusion/Rads. Utterly dominant. The two of you alone are just fine, and if you want to invite a couple of damage dealers to the party, you'll cut through spawns like a hot knife through butter pretty much without risk.

Two Ill/Rads would work very well together. You could add a Fire or Archery blaster for more AOE damage... an Ill/Rad should be able to help with aggro. Still, more Rad is always nice to have for stacking the debuffs and AM.

Plant/rad or Plant/Kin.

Really, both would be good.

I play a plant/rad with Ill/rad duo that is a beast.

Since I´m dualboxing and sick of speeboosting and for more brutal AV killing awesomeness, I took plant/rad to acompany my ill/rad.

Both plant and ill have confusepowers that work well together and are fast recharging. Ill brings a good alphataker to the table, when plant provides the betacontrol and gives AoE containment (and damage) that Ill lacks. Kin would be a AOE killer in higher levels, while giving nice + recharge for the Ill´s PA.

Really, I recommend one of the 2 above. You can´t go wrong with that.
