Idea for a costume pack-Noir
I wouldn't say there is no chance of it happening. Unlikely maybe, but there is a chance. David aka Noble Savage has been VERY receptive to feedback and suggestions and is trying his damnedest to make as many players happy with the art and visual style of the game as possible.
If you can get a following, and a nice list of suggested items to include (with reference shots) then I believe you have a shot.
I think the concept is a little broad - 1930-60 encompasses a wide variety of styles.
Break it down to, say:
Classic Casual - Everything from a Zoot Suit to poodle skirts (though we know that gives some animation issues.) I tend to think old movies with this though.
Military - We have quite a bit in game that would already fit this, admittedly, but things like a bomber jacket, 1940s-ish pilot headphones, "classic" sailor/soldier/WAC outfits, more helmets, more weapon styles and the like would fit here.
Silver/Golden Age - For the classic superhero/supervillain costumes. Can't think of what pieces we'd actually be missing for this already, but it's a decent catchall category.
Art Deco/Steampunk - For both costumes and base items.

The term "noir" you're using and what's being suggested are two separate things. Retro military stuff and classicical formal wear aren't "noir" Noir is a French word for black/dark, and is most familiar for its use in the film noir genre, which usually revolves around lots of gritty detective/crime drama. Bomber jackets, and especially silver/golden age costume ideas are about as noir as Disneyland.
Don't get me wrong! I'd love to see all the things Bill mentioned, and they'd be great additions, but it's not noir at all. Not even a little. When I think noir I think of detective and gumshoe type clothing, most of which is just drab three piece suits (which we have) and a fedora (which we also have), but there is room for improvement.
Real noir clothing suggestion list:
Waistcoat or Vest as seen HERE and with a double breasted version HERE It is possible to get a kind-of vest using some of the sleeveless jacket option, but those look a bit crap, honestly. Real vests please.
Or a few variations on the trenchcoat, which frankly, we need anyway. Like THIS or THIS
Specifically for ladies, those fancy hats with the veils hanging from the front would be awesome sauce, like THIS.
And something that would be super simple to add, and entirely awesome: a cigarette face option. For the love of Pete. For males AND females please. Just a little ciggy to stick in their craw when they're on the case.
So again, Noir is a really specific term with a very set type of visual theme to it. Just throwing out anything from the 30s-60s ain't noir (especially since, I think noir is usually associated with the 20s. Not sure about that though). The ideas proposed here are still really great and I'd love to see them, but they'd definitely be labeled as something else.
/signed for both retro and noir.
When I used the term "noir" I'm referencing things like Marvel Noir and The Spirit and the like.
The Spirit is totally Noir, but most of the suggestions in here haven't been (Like Statesman in the 40s isn't noir at all). Night Errant used the term "Retro" and I'd say that would definitely be a better fit for the majority of suggestions in here and would be totally awesome to boot.
Retro does sound more appropriate. Again, I just used the term to reference the styles and era. Thanks for correcting.
I know a lot of people were wanting those classic Arachnos outfits you see in the Oro arc. This would be a good pack idea to fit those in.
I have the "Spider-Man Noir" graphic novel that came out last year and highly recommend it.

Good example of the comic sub-genre. Looking forward to buying Iron Man Noir too.

Yup yup! I loved the look.
Okay I've had this idea for a costume pack kind of dealy. How about 1930's-1960's inspired clothes for your heroes? I mean even if your heroes a tech head, doesn't mean he can't have a vintage look. Noir styles look great and add an air of nostalgia to you. Look at Statesman circa 1940 and tell me you never thought about what your hero would look like at that moment.
I'd wish for it to be free but depending on the number of pieces it may have to have a pricetag. Sorry guys, but it must. Depending of course.
Now of course this being purely an idea, I'd love to hear some criticing from the more experienced forum members. But I know there is no chance of this. So don't waste our time by saying so. Thanks!
