Animated Film Terminator 3000″ Being Planned
Hmm, could be ok i guess, just wondering if it will clash with the old (or new) movie lore.
I thought the McG re-imaginning was supposed to be continuing as a trilogy with the next shot in an apocalyptic London?.
If a new movie like this (animated or not) was good enough to help me pretend the last two Terminator movies didn't happen (especially the last one) then I'm all for it.

You were supposed to forget about T3 with that awful sub-par whiney interpretation of John Connor, that was awful and actually makes SCC tv show look pretty good in retrospect (even though it lost its way it didn't deserve cancellation in my opinion).
The last film was ok-ish, if the next is brilliant I will start to take the franchise seriously again as one with a future.
the Arnie CG was awesome though.
I've updated the post. It seems a property battle has ensued because of the announcement yesterday by Hannover.
EDIT: Oh, looks like UtraTroll beat me to the update. ^_^;
Here's a quote from Shadowrush.com:
Nothing has been said yet in terms of the story, nor have any of the writers nor any of the production talents have been mentioned. But there was one thing in the press release that will most likely get mixed reactions from Terminator fans… it’s been slated to be a PG-13 movie. This was done in order to minimize the violence and is set as a goal by the production team.
The press release also has a bit of brief history about the companies in connection to the Terminator franchise:
Hemdale produced and distributed director James Cameron’s original “Terminator” feature, but released the sequel rights in 1990 to Carolco, which later transferred the rights to ultimately end up under the control of Halcyon Media. Santa Barbara based Pacificor, LLC prevailed in the most recent auction and transfer of rights to the franchise in January, and retains approval and licensing authority over the proposed “Terminator 3000″ project.
To be honest, I don’t know how I feel about this one. I’ll wait until they release more about it. For now I hope that it won’t just be some cash-grab venture.
UPDATE Aug 14 2010: It seems Hannover House may have prematurely announced this project. Deadline reports that Pacificor, the company that owns the rights to the Terminator franchise have sent a cease and desist letter after the announcement yesterday. CEO of Hannover House Eric Parkinson responded claiming that he owns the animation rights to the franchise, which were not included during the sale to Carolco. This is what Parkinson said:

I've updated the article on shadowrush.com about this as well. But for more of the details checkout Deadline, which also includes a copy of the cease and desist letter on their's if you want to see it. This announcement has turned out to be something more it seems.
