John Landis, the director of classics like Animal House and An American Werewolf in London, has teamed with his son, Max, for an original script called Chronicles, reports Heat Vision.

The film, to be shot in faux-documentary style with a handheld camera, tells the story of three Portland teenagers who develop superpowers. First time director Josh Trank (editor of Big Fan) is attached to direct.

John Landis' most recent directorial effort, Burke and Hare, stars Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis and, though currently unscheduled, should see release in the near future.

Well... the information is a bit vague for me to formulate an opinion this early. However I find the idea at least intriguing and look forward to additional information. On the other hand in regards to Burke and Hare I REALLY want to see this film and I've been twiddling my thumbs waiting for them to announce a US release date almost as long as I did with Solomon Kane.

So...shaky cam + unknown super heroes + famous director's kid. Unless there's some funky math going on here, that all adds up to suck.
