It'll be interesting to see how the costuming works in John Carter. If I remember correctly them red martians don't wear much as a matter of course. Dejah Thoris isn't dressed that way in that picture because she's a damsel in distress, she's "dressed" that way because that's the everyday outfit in Helium.
I love the John Carter books, I really hope the movie is good.

Last week I had stumbled across the IMDB entry on the 2012 one and based upon its casting I am optimistic it will at least cleanse my brain of the horrible one.
If you stumble across "Princess of Mars" starring Traci Lords as Dejah Thoris and Antonio Sabato Jr. as John Carter do whatever it takes to get away.
In the 2012 one we will have Taylor Kitsch ("Gambit") as John Carter and Lynn Collins ("Kayla Silverfox"). I hope it is good.

First up is Tim Burton's big screen version of his Frankenweenie short. That one is expected to drop on March 9, 2012. Be sure to mark that on your calendar now. No getting married on that day, you silly kids!
The second announcement was the release date for the highly anticipated John Carter of Mars, based off of the popular science fiction books about a man who goes to Mars and ends up with a hot martian chick (see pic above). That film is set to launch on June 8th, 2012.
Normally I wouldn't bother posting release date news. Especially since the movies aren't coming out for two years. But I know how you readers like to plan ahead.
