Quote:
Its very interesting that comic strip artist used the "Kent Allard" name. It shows he's probably read the books. That is the Shadow's name in the pulp books by Walter Gibson. Most folks would have known the Shadow as Lamont Cranston, which is an alias in the books, but is the Shadow's "real" name in the radio series and most recent movie. A couple of the comic series takes on the Shadow have deliberately put these and other names out there doing a shell game shuffle to leave the reader guessing as to which, if any, is the real man behind the Shadow.

Thanks for the link. Its been book marked and will join my weekly comic reading.
Those that know me know I like pulp and radio era heros. Golden Age or Dieselpunk if you will.
Well, I've just learned of a web comic published as tribute to that era: Captain Spectre and the Lightning League by Tom Floyd Looking through the archives, Floyd uses a few art styles. The "daily strip" style is my favorite. What I've been able to read so far seems pretty good. Spectre seem to have bits of several of the pulp era heroes: Shadow, Spider, Doc Savage. Its made to look like a revival of a radio show ended in 1946. It even has club and merchandise offers like such shows did.
