Photon Seeker Accuracy

I'm a bit confused with how accurate Photon Seekers are. The power itself has 2.0X Accuracy, and the Impact from the Seekers has 1.2X.

As I understand this, summoned entities inherit boosts from the powers that summoned them, which in this case would make the base accuracy of the Seekers a mind-boggling 2.4X.

Is this correct, or should I take slotting Accuracy into consideration?

Summoned entities often inherit boosts from the summoning *character*, but not the specific summoning power, as far as I know.

In this particular case, the 2.0 listed accuracy on the power simply denotes that it summons a pet or pseudopet. All such powers list that 2.0 accuracy, and as far as anyone knows it just represents the fact that the power won't ever fail to create the pet. The pet's powers have only whatever accuracy the powers themselves list, in this case 1.2.

So the explosion does have a 20% accuracy bonus, but it's probably not enough to forgo slotting acc at all. 1 SO would probably be plenty, though.

That sounds about right. The explosions will hit reliably on most enemies but I wouldn't forgo Accuracy altogether.

I know you didn't ask but I'd like to provide a little tactical advice. Photon Seekers are quite dumb. They'll follow you around but lack the necessary intelligence to all lock onto the same target or even explode all at once. Best way to get around that is by using them as a PBAoE. Summon 'em right in a critter's face or directly over their head. That way you'll get maximum effect from all the explosions and catch anything standing in very close proximity.

I've done some digging and a friend did some verifying. Photon Seekers have 1.2X effective accuracy prior to Enhancements.

Mechanically, a power that summons an entity can have boosts for various attributes, which are passed onto the summoned entity as global buffs. These in turn are passed to the entity's powers (if they are set to accept any given attribute), such as increased damage, debuffs, mezzes, etc.

What passes from Photon Seekers (the power) to Photon Seeker (the entity) is not the accuracy of the power, but the accuracy boost granted to the power. If you have no Enhancements in it and no global Accuracy buffs, this becomes 1.0 despite the fact that the power has 2.0X Accuracy. Stick a single-origin Enhancement in it and it becomes 1.33, etc. Only the boost is passed onto the summoned entity.

So Photon Seekers effectively have 1.2X Accuracy. That's what I needed to know.
