Is Confront Similar to a Tankers Taunt?
It's not even nearly as effective as a Tanker's taunt because it's single target. I'd consider it very low priority and none of my current level 50 Scrappers have it because of that.

I agree with DS. Some builds use it to mule taunting sets to push defense numbers or in some rarely posted pvp builds for the effects there. In pve, it's about as high priority for me as slotting brawl - probably lower (unless u role play).

On one of my scrappers, I knew that I would have to draw aggro occasionally, so I took Provoke from the Presence pool, instead of confront. If you do this just make sure to put an accuracy slot in there, because unlike the natural taunts, the pool taunts require an accuracy check.
On my DB/WP, I took it both for the set bonuses, and to tank AVs.
Other than that, I just use it for it's pretty animation
However, if I manage to get in before the tank, I've yet to lose aggro on who I was Confronting, which was fun to see Rommie keeping his sights purely on my scrapper, versus the tank or the brute.

I have Confront on my BS/SR, mostly as a filler power. Wouldn't have taken it if I could have grabbed a non-filler, but it works pretty fine. -Range is handy, even in AV soloing where I can pop with it and then jump back to kite through a +To Hit or to use Aid Self safely. It also recharges rather quickly and the single target taunt does offer advantages over regular AoE taunt in some instances, like grabbing the attention of a specific Nictus to separate from Rommulus without risk of getting their attention too.
Confront?
I usually just smack them on the head to get their attention
Single Target Taunt = meh. Punch-voke works about as well or better in most cases. You might want the power just to slot a particular IO set, but other than that you can safely skip.
My scrappers, all of them, have to compete with other scrappers at what they do,..which is..DPS..obviously; plus be able to save people from that one last hit that would get them if needed; without much chance to fail; plus redirect attacks from an AV if needed; without much chance to fail; keeping the team safe with or without support. I think of it as being a bit more demanding of my heroes.
All my scrappers get confront.

Working on my first Scrapper a level 12 fire/fire and needed to know if Confront is similar to Taunt? Does it offer the same effectiveness as Taunt or is it not as effective since Scrappers are not built with stronger defenses such as Tankers or Brutes?
With that being said, is this a practical power to have? I'm thinking if I am on a team without a Tanker then I might be put in to draw aggro. Thanks.
