Ninjas/Storm or Mercs/Storm?

I want to start a new MM-Toon. As Secondary i want to take Storm. I have no Ninja and no Merc MM, so i decided to give one of those a try. What do you think would be better to pair with Storm? Merc-Ranged, maybe nice with Hurricane and you get the Medic for additional Heal. Ninjas-Melee, nice for them to slow the NPCs down, but they have no heal and i don't know if O2 is enough to hold them alive(i hate to resummon Pets after each Fight). I use Provoke on all my MMs and preferr to fight bigger spawns. What are your thoughts about it? Anyone has played one of this Combinations? Which Set will be better to pair with Storm?

Go with Mercs. As ranged damage dealers, they will benefit more from /storm's insanely good ability to keep enemies at a distance. Gale will actually be useful. Mercs won't mind the knockback of your hurricane and tornado at all, and are more likely to stay within hurricane's -tohit radius to make them safer from melee attacks. The medic will synergize much more with O2 Boost, allowing you to stack heals, and Lightning storm will help keep melee enemies away from them without you having to worry about them chasing the flopping bodies.

I have a ninja/storm... and I easily qualify him as my "Funnest" MM to play... mostly because of all the mayhem going on, add in group TP... and it's a traveling party.

There is a reason you see a shortage of mercs in game.....

I would rank Merc/Storm as my Top 3 most favorite combo. I have one at lvl 50 and I've invested a lot in that toon.

First of all, Merc's aoe damage isn't as good as Robot but I dare say Merc's single target damage is better (although how much better is debatable hehe).

The thing with Storm is that you can put four Pet Unique in Tornado (2 x 5% defense + 2 x 10% resistance). That can increase the survival of your pets A LOT. Combine those unique with AoE defense from Manuever leadership and Steamy, your pets can survive quite well.

I put two Achille's Heel in Merc and one knockback proc in Commando.

I've heard the price of recipes are very expensive now due to less population. I am not sure how much it costs to buy all those unique. Good luck. I really like my Merc/Storm. I enjoy the fact that they are all ranged and I can just position myself with Hurrican/Thunderstorm to help out and heal.

I can see Ninja/Storm work really well in soloing.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Depending on how you plan to use storm, this could go either way. With Mercs since they're long-ranged Hurricane, Freezing Rain, and Lightning Storm would be a couple of good powers to keep your mercs safe and debuff the enemies from affar. Ninjas, on the other hand I also think a good Freezing Rain debuff/knockdown, Steamy Mist defense, and good Lightning Storm placement (anouther pet ) could equally help your Ninjas. Just depends on what you like, and what you plan to use/skip.
