Dark/sonic def.
One thing that leaps out at me is that you're taking Fearsome Stare a lot later than I would, and not enhancing it for to hit debuffs. For me, it's a key power in dark miasma, and the one I use first on every fight. I'd grab it as soon as it's available and prioritise accuracy, to hit debuff and recharge.

Hmm didn't think on that, cheers for idea, will take it at 24 to try it out!
I took a look at your build in Mids, and it looks pretty solid for the most part. In fact, most of your power picks are exactly the ones I picked on my Dark/Sonic.
However, in my experience, I find that Dark/Sonic does not benefit especially well from copious amounts of either defense or recharge, which are almost universal goals for other powersets and archetypes (although they certainly don't hurt). You really want to make sure that you have the recovery to support all of your toggles going at once while firing off attacks on top of that, though, and anything else is just dandy.
One major change that I would suggest is picking up Oppressive Gloom from your epic pool. Combined with Screech and Howling Twilight (which you will use often even when there are no fallen allies present), you can keep entire mobs stunned easily and even stun bosses without effort. It's a real dealbreaker, in my opinion.
The other change I would suggest is to slot Fearsome Stare for ToHit debuff rather than fear. The fear lasts plenty long on its own, but more importantly, it has a powerful ToHit debuff component that will leave mobs missing constantly when combined with Darkest Night. Enhancing it for ToHit debuff will ensure that even higher-level mobs will be missing as often as possible.
All of that said, Dark/Sonic is highly soloable. Only mezzes really bring you down, so a few Break Frees will keep you rockin' and rollin'. Teams will love you, too. And it's fun, for sure.
Looks pretty solid, but like others have said I'd take Fearesome Stare earlier..
I personally frankenslot it for capped recharge, great fear duration and accuracy, and a tad of To-Hit Debuff.. Combined with DN that should bring their to-hit down by around 50%, which is plenty for anything that you'd be trying to solo. Don't forget that Fluffy also debuffs mobs further and you get 5-7% defense from Shadow Fall, pretty much flooring the to-hit chance of anything within a sane level range. (not to mention, teams usually bring some sorta +defense)
From a debuff standpoint, Fearsome Stare gives you -24% on +2s, Darkest Night also gives you -24% on +2s, and Shadow Fall slotted for Def and a Steadfast Res/Def gives 11% Defense. Unless they're archvillains, they hit you when you LET them hit you, and they do [again assuming +2] 30% less damage when they hit you. When they're not Feared. Or stunned. Or waiting on recharge. And Fluffy [I named mine Mozart] is spammin' heals and providing MORE -damage and -ToHit and immobilizing and whatnot.
Personally I only throw out Darkest Night on the tough fights.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
-I it was me, I'd remove 3 slots from Tar Patch..
-You'll want to increase Fluffy's Accuracy (Lyso's, TouchOfTheNictus, GravAnchors), no need to put a recharge IO.
-Dark Miasma rules!
perma jump is ---> /up 1
Well... I've always hated defenders, but i finally find one combination i'm having alot of fun with. I want to team, but i don't wanna be in the gutter if i can't find one, or if i just wanna solo at my own pace.
Toyed around some and made this, i don't really know what i'm doing, but i enhanced the powers i think i should enhance, as well as tried getting some defense, thinking that between the defense and darkest night, they'd have trouble hitting me!
I dunno tho! ideas welcome. I have some inf around and some recepies. But i don't want stupid expensive, and i have zero plans to pvp. Just some teaming and a lil solo
