I've played an Ice/Stone tank that I had a lot of fun with.

I'm now wanting to make a new Ice Tank, but I'm not sure what secondary. I've made a lowbie for each kind and just can't nail down which one i want to go the distance with.

Any other fans of Ice out there got any suggestions?

I am working on a ice/warmace tanker right now he is now level 24 and I am having a lot fun with it. I made a thread awhile ago asking for a build for it. Im starting to like the build that someone had for their tanker.

I Decided to not take Chilling embrace and taunt because Icicles gives a good enough taunt to keep in aggro. Heres the build he made me.

Well, IMO and I believe in the opinion of most veteran Ice tanks, not taking Chilling Embrace is a very bad idea. Not only is it a taunt aura, (and one of the best you can get) but the slows provides significant damage mitigation. You really, really should take it, and take it before level 20.

As for the build, honestly, it could use a lot of improvement. The armors are way overslotted--you rarely need more than 4 slots in a standard armor toggle--and several of the attacks are poorly slotted.

But in answer to the OP, right off hand I can't think of any secondaries I wouldn't recommend with Ice. As Mayhem suggests, the weapons are a good combo, but Fire and SS would work well too. Just pick a secondary that you want to try and go for it!

I went Electric, and its been a blast.

Not many Ice/Elec tanks out there

I was thinking about Ice/Elec, seamed like a combo that would nevr run out of end.

Well if you notice, the armors are slotted the way they are to gain Recharge buffs, and the attacks are slotted the way they are to gain defense buffs. I could take out 2 of the eradications and put some sciroccos in their to get rid of some recharge and boost the damage a little, but I prefer the Max HP over the regen buff. The damage isnt at ED cap on WM and CC but it recharges so quickly that it more than makes up for it.

As for the OP their are tons of secondaries that mesh really well with Ice, I have always wanted to try Elec and SS. WM and DM are also good combos. Pick any of those and you will have a really strong Tank.

I understand that, but IMO, the 15% recharge buff is simply not worth leaving half of your attacks underslotted. Making up for the fact that your attacks are underslotted for damage--and Icicles is completely *un*slotted for damage and accuracy--by using the attacks more often sounds like a huge waste of endurance to me. For instance, you could easily get both the max HP and the regen bonus in WM and CC--and insure that they're fully slotted for end reduction--by simply adding another slot rather than chasing more recharge bonuses.

BTW, I have absolutely no problem slotting attacks for defense bonuses, I do it on most of my melee characters. However, slotting for defense bonuses doesn't mean that you also have to leave them underslotted for critical attributes like accuracy, damage and end reduction.

Mine is around 40, and has zero endurance problem (General IO's). You actually have to be careful when playing another toon, because you get used to not worrying about your blue bar.

I wanted an AoE set, and it was between Fire and Electric, I ultimately decided to do Electric because I had never really played the set before, and it has been a nice suprise. Lightning Rod is just pure awesomeness
