Just hit 20 with my illusion/empath troller and stuck which to train for. I read in other thread fortitude was very benificial at higher lvls. Other options to fortitude are Flash or other ones like fitness or medicine which i have opportunity to take at this lvl.

Any suggestions?

While theres "no right or wrong" way to play your character. When you are /Emp The Medicine Pool is the wrong way, theres not a power in there that you can't do better with your secondary anyway.

If you team alot Fortitude is nice, if your solo grab either hasten or start (or finish) on the hasten Pool. Empathy on defenders has the greatest beneift from Vigilance's Enudrance discount, since its so reactive. You dont have that pleasure, so recovery is definately gonna be helpful, but the recharge from hasten will help decrease the downtime of you PA.

You might also want to list which powers you have so far, in case you've skipped one that is critically important.

I personally think that the most important powers that you should have by now are:

Blind
Deceive
Spectral Wounds
Heal Other
Phantom Army

Those are the essentials that you really "should" have. After that, Fortitude, Clear Mind, Superior invisibility, and Resurrect are nice, in that order (though Resurrect is a bit optional). Flash is also optional, but decent. I always skip Absorb Pain. At some point it would be nice to have Stamina from the Fitness Pool and Hasten from the Speed Pool. But those can all come later. Of course, I'm talking about the powers you, in theory, could already have access to.

Of the powers you don't YET have access, I would definitely pick up Spectral Terror (26), Phantasm (32), Regeneration Aura (35), and Adrenaline Boost (38). Recovery Aura is nice but optional.

My Illusion/Empath is level 50. She has every Illusion power EXCEPT Group Invisibility. She has every Empathy Power except Absorb Pain. I also took Recall Friend, Hover, Hasten, Super Speed, Hurdle, Health, Stamina, and Fireball. Of course, that doesn't make my choices the best. That is just what I wanted to go with.

I'll post my build from live in data chunk form, but note that I don't have any of the Purple recipes yet, nor do I have any of the Luck of the Gambler recharge items yet. However, the build is set up to take them if I ever get around to obtaining them. The build has been very fun, and is a fun build even without any global recharge.

Since you have empathy as your secondary you should steer clear of the medicine pool. It really won't help you out that much since you already have healing powers which do everything that is needed.

Fitness is definitely a good pool to go into so you can get stamina since ill/emp can be a little end heavy, especially if everyone keeps going into red health.

Fortitude should be gotten by 24, IMO, because it will give defense, damage, and a to hit buff to an ally. VERY Helpful and will make it so you don't have to heal as much and make it so you bring more to the team then just healing as far as your secondary is concerned.

Besides that and what everyone else has said just remember that as an ill/emp recharge is your friend. It will allow you to have auras up sooner, buffs up sooner, and phantom army up sooner.

And Peon, your build is very similar to what I run with. I am almost complete with it, just missing one purp set.

Yeah, cohplanner doesn't work on the Mac operating system. That's pretty much the only thing I need my PC for as well, other than when I get in the mood to play Oblivion. At least, I don't think they have Oblivion on the Mac. I havent checked. Hmm.

Anyway, I actually have my PC sitting at a desk that is perpendicular to my desk that has the Mac, so I can just look over at my plan on that screen as I respec or whatever. I really do wish they'd make cohplanner for the Mac but I bet it would be a serious undertaking.
