Mystery: How/when can I buy expansions?

So, I thought I'd add one of the addon costume packs, 'cuz they look fun.

I got a message saying I can't. Apparently, there is a limit of things bought per time period. I don't know what the time period is, or what the limit is, and there's no shopping cart, so I can't do things in a single transaction anyway. I'm confused.

The web page doesn't say what these limits are, only that individual exceptions can't be made. So far as I can tell, a limit "per household" means that we can't get more stuff for anyone (and we have three new players in this household as of last week) until... uhm. Some unknown future time?

This is confusing. Can someone point me at something that would give me a hint as to when and how I could get other addon packs?

You'll have to log in to your NCsoft Master Account, there is often a $$ and/or time limit on purchases with the default payment option on your account.

If you purchased an item and applied the activation code, you will then have to wait 24hrs before you can make another purchase. (If I remember correctly.) You can reset the $$ limit on your account but not the cool down period.

I can't find anything saying whether it's 24 hours or some other period -- and I'm pretty sure I haven't bought anything in the last 24 hours. Leaving me with no clue as to when I might be able to get the costume packs.

Yeah they deliberatly don't tell us how long it is. Persoanlly I suspect it's 3 days but that's just a guess.

Eh, I'll just do the easy thing -- forget about it and not pay. I'm not sure this is exactly how a store is supposed to work, but I have to admit, it's saving me money.

Well, it seems to be over three days.

In that case I'd go and bug customer service about it.

I filed a ticket. I don't actually expect a response -- I get the feeling that the company has not yet reached that point in its experience of business where they realize that there's a direct correlation between people being able to give them money (and/or having reason to) and the amount of money they have at the end of the month. It can take people a while to get the hang of that.

There was another thread here a couple days ago that said the cooldown is 48 hours, and that if you can't for over 48 hours, then you should call them because your account has been most likely flagged (the person talked to support and were told that). You should call them directly, it's the fastest and easiest method, much better than playing with emails for a few days.

Well, my customer support ticket got "escalated", haven't heard anything since. Was able to buy a booster pack today. Within a minute, my phone was ringing from the fraud prevention department at the card company, and I am again unable to buy new stuff.

I sort of have to say, this is not what I'd call confidence-inspiring.

I recommend trying to see if you can get your bank/financial institution to flag NCSoft as not fruadulent for you, permenently. This fruad alert happens becuase some banks have had too much crdit card fruad with MMOs.

Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.

Which is also why NCSoft is so anal about credit card fraud (they have to balance making it as easy as possible for the customer, and keeping their merchant account).

I still can't imagine how not having a shopping cart system helps.

Our store sucks. But keep trying, it's worth it.
