Ice / Earth Dom Question

I've been playing an Ice / Earth Dom and likeing it a lot, but have a serious question about my plans for this toon.

Basicly, I'm wondering if its realistic to run BOTH Aritc Air and Mud Pots at the same time. The end cost on AA is harsh enough even 3 slotted for end reduct. I intend to slot mud pots 3 times for end reduct as well, but am still worried how viable this build will be at 50.

I'm also running combat jumping and accrobatics toggles and will have a defensive toggle (most likely charged armor from the Mu Mastery set) as well. I've consideried dropping the Leaping pool for fly but I'd rather not. I want that status protection from Accrobatics too.

So to recap thats 5 toggles: Artic Air (3 slotted for end reduct), Mud Pots (3 slotted for end reduct), Combat Jumping (no additional slotting, its cheap), Accrobatics (2 slotted for end reduct), and Charged armor (3 slotted for end reduct) all running at the same time at level 50.

I was going to 5 Slot Stamina with Performance Shifter to try to help as well

If it works the overlap from Artic Air and Mud Pots should really slow down mobs and cause confusion and all I have to do is move into the area. Will my power bar handle the drain even with my best efforts to control it?

This is basically the build I have in mind. The only set I have decided on thus far is Performance Shifter, eventually I'll choose others and try to get Perma-Dom going. First though I have to get the toon to 50 and I have to know its a viable idea.

While ive never tried the 2 sets together;

Mud Pots is often seen as skippable, due to its very small Area of Effect.

Arctic Air would keep your foes in that area better with slowing them. But since it makes them run away, and confuses them so they wouldn't hang about much, I would reconmend skipping Mud Pots, The endurance just sint worth it for only injuring those in the immediate area.

I have an Ice/Earth Dom and it can work. I know you said you were going to eventually go for Perma when you hit 50 but there is no reason why you can't start working on it now. Even if you are not perma you will be needing Domination up often in order to refill the blue.

I have never taken Acrobatics on any of my Doms. While in Domination you have kb protection. If you must buy a karma -kb io and put it in Combat Jumping.

Building around -recharge is the way to go. Plus this will bring Powersink up more often when you get into your 40's.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm thinking twice about taking mudpots at all. How would Shiver be as a replacement? I read a complaint that its cone is too narrow which is why I skipped it. It would have the advantage of NOT being an always-on toggle if its a good enough power for slowing mobs.

Domination has knockback protection!?!?!?!?

If this is true I had no idea. In this case -recharge would be the way to go to get Perma-Dom asap! I've prefered to make my sets all 50's when I slot them, but I'll re-read my guide for slotting sets. Is it ok to mix and match levels within a set or does every enhancement have to be the same level?

Properly slotted Arctic Air + Shiver + Frostbite will put +4s at the -rech cap. That's the same as reducing incoming damage per unit time by 75%.

In other words it's like having 75% damage resistance to all damage types.

What you need then to survive is a way to mitigate the alpha strike. Ice slick is tailor made for that job.

Wow this is exactly what I needed to know!

Its offical, I'm giving up on mudpots in favor of Shiver. This may provide an extra enhancement slot if I decide to 5-slot it. (I was going to 6 slot mud-pots) I may put the extra slot in Frostbite so I can at least give it another accuracy. I had been planning to keep Frostbite unslotted because of all the bad things I've heard about it, but it could be usefull for helping to stack slow on a tough mob.

Now that I know more about domination and perma-domination, I think this is going to be my favorite villian class. I cant wait to hit 47 so I can start slotting lv 50 enhancements.
