This sounds like a network problem more than anything else.
Have you tried checking your network performance? : ftp://ftp.coh.com/support_tool/netin...allOS_USEU.exe
Without going into too much technical detail, I want to say - you are not alone on this! I (and all of my online friends) have been experiencing this as well. We range from XP to Windows7 and all manner of video cards. We all are experiencing this very excessive lag with occasional crash. Very frustrating.
First off, it looks like you're using some sort of 'network optmiser' program as well as possibly other such 'optimisation' programs. In my experience, such programs are total junk and usually the cause of more issues than they ever fix, if any. I'd get rid of whatever ones you may have.
Additionally, the following entries concern me:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{51A390DF-397B-486E-865D-EAD9559541EB}: NameServer = 156.154.70.22,156.154.71.22

Entries like that tend to be a sign of infection in my experience. Unless you know where those came from and they are deliberate, I'd get rid of them and check your system thouroughly for viruses and such.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

I am unable to post the contents of network_data_coh.txt, as the forum redirects me to http://us.ncsoft.com/en/ automatically. Anyone know of a place I can host the file and link to it instead?

You may need to go to Support for this one. I'm wondering if it isn't ISP-related somehow.

Yes, and yes. No difference. The occasional (one of ten? one in fifteen? I've not been keeping an accurate count) zone changes and I disconnect. Most zone changes take minutes to be passed between zones (no-progress-bar screen to progress-bar screen) with the occasional faster exception.
|
question: have you bypassed that Belkin router and connected straight to your modem?
|
I guess I'll call my ISP. Any information I should gather together beforehand?
Yes, I have. I've even pressed the hidden button behind the pinhole on the back of the cable-modem to reset it.
I guess I'll call my ISP. Any information I should gather together beforehand? |
So, just to clarify:
You are running through a Belkin Router.
You have this really long loading times on all computers connected through this Belkin Router
You have bypassed the Beklin router and the long loading time remains on the single computer connected
So we know there's a network issue, and that the issue seems to be coming from outside the internal network. :: Do I have this straight so far?
From here: When you are directly connected to the modem, you should be able to connect the IP address: 192.168.100.1
On most cable / dsl modems, this will take you to the modem's control panel.
My suspicion is that if your network speed or levels are out of range. If it's a cable modem you should have a TX, RX, and a SNR level.
- The TX level should be between 45-58.
- The RX level should be close to 0
- The SNR should be around 30
My suspicion here is that your cable Signal to Noise ratio is either really high, or your Transmit level is really low.
After a week of excessive disconnects and loading screen time, I figure I should ask for some assistance with how to reduce the problem. We "pause" on zoning at a loading screen (without a progress bar) for (up to) a few minutes at a time. About a tenth of the time we disconnect rather than connect to the new zone and its' loading screen (with a progress bar).
Any assistance appreciated.
