Best Way to Level Up? Active Teams?

Another note for the OP: You can use /friend or /gfriend to put people on your "friend list." Gfriend (global friend) requires them to accept your friend invite. There are lots of reasons people may not accept your invite, ranging from excellent ("I have 150 global friends and my list is full") to reasonable ("I don't know you that well yet") to dangerously irrational ("My ex-gf had a character with a similar name and YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A CRAZED STALKER "). If rejected, I always assume they had a reason; it keeps me from starting imaginary fights.

Having a bunch of friends ("friend" is specific between your character and that character) and gfriends (between your account and their account) often makes it easier to find teams with at least ONE person who's good. Two if you count yourself.

I don't play other MMO's much, so I don't know if the friend list is useful in other games, but I get a lot of use out of it here.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

For the record, I only compared CoX to WoW on a very superficial level as far as simply seeing active bodies around you while you're playing. That's all.

Truth be told, I like CoX's instanced mission system a lot. No problems here.

It takes a while for people of lower levels to travel from one spot to another so it's natural to expect people to trek from point A to point B. Once they reach point B (the mission), they disappear. You're most certainly right about that. However, the fact remains. I do not see a lot of people traveling from place to place.

On a side note, my only suggestion to CoX developers is to let players know, when they just started the game, that there are global channels full of people who are looking for missions, teams etc. That way, new players will not be wandering around aimlessly or doing solo missions ad nauseum like I did for about a week and a half.

EDIT: Yes, I have quite a few friends and global friends already. I'm always looking for people!

Most of the time people are broadcasting for teams constantly especially for sewer teams at lower levels , so any new player should have very little trouble finding someone to team with , of course you have to be on Virtue or Freedom . Glad you have this part figured out and hope to run into your toon at some point

Just want to add this:

You don't have to know everything about the game to start a team.
You don't have to be a 40+ month Vet to know anything about the game.
All you have to know is how to get along with others and how to have fun doing so.
All you have to be is open to suggestions and patient with others.
