Hmmmm, I just read that link you had. If this is true then it is a long time coming. That was the biggest bugaboo for markets Red (Villain Side). As a Hero, I could probably fetch a cool 3 mill influence for Hami Goo versus trying to get that same price Villain side. I have been playing the markets consistently over the past 1 1/2 years now. I can tell you that there is a big difference in what prices things are being sold at and everyone knows it.
I've always felt that this discrepancy between the two markets, took away from the ebb and flow of how the markets should really work. So, I am "clap" "clap" "clapping" in advance of this and hope all goes well in this transition between markets once GR goes live.

Prices don't matter in our game economy. The game will distribute you drops that you can sell with enough influence for Single Origin enhancements. After that. the proverbial sky is the limit on where you want to go with your build.
Availability has always been the issue, especially redside where Merit-earning arcs are plenty (I got 8 Merits in around 30 minutes doing Arbiter Daos stuff) but TFs are so few that players are inevitably drawn to blueside because their friends are there, more Task Forces, easier Task Forces....which causes a self-fulfilling prophecy of a dead redside market.
Merging the markets means I can USE my plentiful redside funds to BUY something. At the moment, I have to wait weeks at times to get items, not a great thing.
Bring on the merge!

Unless i'm dreaming, or the recent earthquake left some weird side-effect to my brain... I think the dev finally just made the best announcement for GR.
They are merging the markets, allowing trade between Hero and vilains in Co-Op zones... the email attachment will be available for both side also.
