Heya, just wanted to post a little update on the Amerikatt pic!

It's taking a while to finish. Unfortunately, RL has been consuming my life like crazy lately, and I have barely any time to devote to art. I might have to put this pic on the back burner for a while so I can finish those contest pics that I need to do. =D Grr, real life intervenes at the worst times, honestly.

Only change I'd suggest is making the stars pink instead of red.


The nose would normally be blue-black and the inside of the ears would be roughly the same color as the fur, but I like your interpretation of those colors.

In the midst of starting college, learning to drive, and looking for a job, I have started work on the prizes for my costume design contest. Haven't been able to do much, unfortunately. =( Hope to rectify that this weekend.

Hey guys, sorry for lack of pictures. =( I had no idea college would be consuming my time so much. Have a little update on CR's prize for the contest. After I finish Shieldara, I will work on Johnstone and Lord Goat's prizes. =D I apologize for the slowness of it, but I will try to work on it more. Have to get caught up on school work. -_-


And here's a little something that I've been doing during class.

That is my math notebook, and pictured on it are my characters Gene-Tech ad Dead Naught. I have three notebooks, one for each class, and each one will be decorated with a certain theme. I won't be adding any more of my toons to this one, but if you would like one of your characters to be immortalized on my math notebook, send me some pics and I would be happy to add him/her/it. =D

Hey everybody! I've been working on a few more things since my last post and will upload them later, but! I wanted to propose a question here.

So, I've been thinking of replicating some CoH costumes to wear for Halloween or to a con or whatever, and was wondering if you all know of any good resources for that kind of thing or where to find tips on making costumes? I would like to do Gene, but her costume requires a lot of armor and 'technical' pieces, which I definitely don't have the expertise to do.

Any ideas, folks? =D

I saw a nice screen printing machine on an infomercial. If you can get similar results to what they show then that could simplify some of the patterns to replicate a particular costume. Google is definately your friend here. There's all sorts of tuorials and tips out there. You might try Instructables, they've got a lot of tips there. I imagine you can find all sorts of cosplay forums that could help you out.

What Foxy said - Seek out cosplay tutorials and such, they must be out there.

But also, a lot will likely have to do with your ability to sew (or learn to) and how creative you get. I suspect there's a decent cosplay niche even on DA, I see bits and pieces there without even looking on occasion.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to sow at all, so I'll definitely have to look up tips for that. -_- Luckily,we have a sowing machine, so that will help a bit.

In your opinion, should photo manipulation be considered an art? It does require a certain amount of skill, but is it a artform or cheating? I would like to know what you guys think of this. <3
