CoX on a Mac Mini?

My 8 year old Sony VAIO has died, at least to the point to where it barely runs CoX without locking up. It has served me well up to this point, but now the poor thing is pretty much only good for e-mail and web-surfing and it's time for me to put it out to pasture. I'm considering getting one of the new Mac Mini's and am curious as to how CoX will run on it.

Basic Model Mac Mini Tech Specs
-2.4GHz or 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
-3MB on-chip shared L2 cache
-1066MHz frontside bus
-2GB (two 1GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB
-NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory

Any thoughts?

It'll run the "Classic" graphics mode.

It won't run Ultra Mode.

That's fine. I'm not concerned with Ultra Mode as much as I am with overall game performance.

Compared to your 8 year old Sony VAIO, it will be like playing a different game entirely.

It's cute. Pretty much nettop size but a lot more power. It has HDMI out and Display Port. It does come with an HDMI to DVI adapter.

It's also not really inexpensive ($699, 2x1GB, 320GB), very unfriendly for a HD upgrade but very easy for memory.

Here's the steps in taking it apart and seeing it's insides.

What he means is that replacing the Hard-Drive can be a bit of a pain on the newer Apple units.

Replacing or adding system memory is easy.

Memory is accessed by opening the door at the bottom. However you need to disassemble nearly the entire unit to get to the hard drive.

Johnny did you ever get the new mac mini?

I'm very curious how it is going. I want to buy the wife a mac mini, but it must run CoX. Even if it can't handle ultra mode or whatever. As long as the original game runs good.

I just got a new Mac Mini last Friday for my birthday. (My wife is awesome!!)

Anywho...It does run CoX very nicely, and with the GeForce 320M that comes 'stock' it does run Ultra-mode (at least on minimal settings). Even without any UM features going, the game looks a whole lot prettier and runs much smoother than it did on my old machine.
