soloing on my ice/bubbler?

ive had this toon for well over 4 years, he's my baby and badgewhore. but he just isnt too good at soloing..i think with enough help i can make it happen.

ive got dmg procs most anywhere i can fit them..repulsion bomb for hard crowd control..but i cant settle on a mastery. ive had ice for ages cuz it just fit, but the dmg just isnt there. so i was looking at fire or psy, maybe even stone.

i run arctic air with 3 dmg procs so im always in melee, thats why im lookin at stone..plus its the only other defense armor

any input would be much appreciated

The First thing I thought when I saw this post was, "give it up." Ice/FF is one of the lowest damage combos possible in the game. But if you really want to solo . . .

Drop something, like Resuscitate, to add Chilblain slotted for damage. This will add some DoT and adds up. (I have an Ice/Storm at 50, who has Chilblain so I can solo.) Add Air Superiority with some damage slots. My Ice/Storm has both Chilblain and Air Sup, plus Jack plus Lightning Storm and Tornado . . . and I can solo with him OK. You won't have tornado or Lightning Storm.

And I believe that Damage slotted into Block of Ice will actually do more overall damage than those procs in that power. The only exceptions are (a) the damage procs in purple sets, and (b) if you already have capped your damage slotting.

No matter what you do, playing solo on an Ice/FF will be slow.

IMO Ice/FF should focus on getting defense soft-capped and settling endurance issues more than any other goal. This is mainly because Ice Control and Force Field together only have one power that requires lots of recharge (Glacier). The recharge is still nice to have, though, so I make it the tertiary goal.

I did a test build a while back but never finished it. It's posted below. It's a bit over the soft cap to Ranged, Melee, and Smashing with 40% Energy/Negative Defense, 24% Melee and 29% AoE, and 37% Resistance to Cold.

There are few purples but it's still not cheap. It makes some use of Hami-O exploits to maximize defense, which you can pursue at your own risk. I'd much prefer being able to take Air Superiority to Jump Kick, but I was out of pool selections. One option would be to swap out Hasten for Air Superiority/Flight. You could also take Hover as a replacement for one of the defense options here. Endurance usage is still high and there is a lot that could be improved, but it's a start.

Get +Acc IO set bonuses so your vet powers hit. With that and air superiority slotted for damage, you shouldn't have any problems soloing.

The Kismet unique will really help with this. Despite it's description ingame, it actually provides +tohit and it can be conveniently slotted into Dispersion Bubble for a constant bonus.

I didn't know Kismet gave +ToHit. That's awesome. I've been looking for a way to add some +ToHit to my Plant/FF so she can solo 8 man teams on +4. Without +ToHit, she's stuck at 8 man teams at +3.

I'd maybe suggest slotting Frostbite with the 3 damage procs it can take - Positrons, Trap of the Hunter, and the slow one (whose name I forget).

The Grav Anchor hold proc is nice, but you should be safe enough without it.

I'd then add three Acc/End pieces, or two Acc/End and an End redux IO. That will give you a fast spammable source of AoE damage, not hugely reliable, but not terrible.

But first, get Chillblain and a pool melee attack.
