no such thing as a "best" build. You gotta figure out what you want to focus on, specifically with how you play. Softcapped def is nice, but you may not need it, same with high recharge, or regen. You should research this stuff for yourself then figure out what you need, then post a build of your own.

It's quite typical to supplement willpower with defense to boost survival. If this is what you want, I made a build below that can get you started. For a defense-oriented build, the variation is mostly in the last four powers in the build. You can replace the last 4 powers with more dual blades attacks for combo, a fourth power pool, or some other patron power pool. I picked darkest night because the to-hit debuff can stack with defense to floor mob's to-hit chance, and willpower has the endurance to run the power.
