Date: Sunday, June 13, 2010
Time: 4:00 PM PDT, 5:00 PM MDT, 6:00 PM CDT, 7:00 PM EDT
Place: Atlas Park - Downside neighborhood at the entrance to the Sewer Network
Event: Abandoned Sewers Trial
Levels: 38 - 40
Enemy: Rikti and Hydra
Rewards: Charmer Badge
Head of The Hydra Badge
29 Merits

Mission Recap:
Defeat 100 Rikti to show Maren you're up to the task
Defeat aliens in abandoned sewers
Contain the Hydra
Use the access code to enter
This code will unlock the door to the maintenance room.
Due to security precautions, the door will only remain open for a maximum of 90 minutes.
Check for Rikti crates. They're the key to your success.
The Rikti have got some seriously funky technology for trying to keep the
Hydra in check, so use it to your advantage.
Remember, the Rikti crates are the key.
Thermite Cannon Ranged Cone, Moderate Damage over Time (Fire),
Special Damage (Plasma) vs. Hydra Tentacle
The Thermite Plasma Cannon is a Rikti weapon.
The Plasma is relatively cool, and only moderately dangerous.
However, it has be discovered that Thermite Plasma is deadly to the Hydra.
It is best to save the weapon's limited charges for defeating the Hydra.

Particle Cannon Ranged Special vs. Hydra Head
The Particle Cannon is a heavy Rikti weapon that can reverse the polarity
of an entity brought through a dimensional rift,
sending it back to its own universe. Against other targets, it has no effect.
The particle cannon can send the Hydra Head back to its dimension.
The particle beam is slow, and must be held on the target for a long time.
The Particle Cannon has limited charges, so use it wisely.

Clean out the maintenance room - 1:30:00
Defeat the Hydra Head

Strategy
All members of the mission must have reached level 38.
All members over 40 will be exemplared to 40.
A teleport-capable team member is strongly recommended.
After clearing 100 Rikti, gather at the entrance to the Hydra silo.
Entering the silo will start the clock, so be ready.
Descend the silo and acquire weapons from the Rikti crates.
No team member should take more than one weapon.
Use the Thermite Cannons to clear the tentacles.
Beware the Hydra head, which fires potent psi attacks.
Clear the force field generators of Rikti.
Then send four squads of one or two heroes each to each Force Field Generator.
The squads must then defeat the generators in unison, on the leader's command.
Once the squads all have said "Down", then all should attack the Hydra head, dealing damage as quickly as possible until the shields are restored. The Particle Cannon can shoot about 5 times at the head in each round if the Forcefield takedowns are coordinated well.
If this is the case, it should only take 4 rounds to defeat the head.
Once the head becomes unaffectable by attacks, the process repeats, starting from clearing force field generators of Rikti.

Successful completion of the trial awards a choice of either a Merit Reward or a multi-purpose Hydra Enhancement (level 40-43).
Characters that are exemplared for this trial will only be eligible to receive the Merit Reward.

We hope everyone will choose to go underground with The Sisterhood for our SH Sunday Event. This is a challenging trial, that can be a lot of fun.
Be sure you aren't wearing one of your good costumes, we will be in the Abandoned Sewers and they have not been maintained. Expect to get dirty.
Ohhh and don't forget to grab the history plaque that is on the left side of the corridor of the drainage arm to Steel Canyon.

See you all in Atlas Park on Sunday June 13!!

I'll be there. I've only done this trial twice and failed both times. Hopefully we do better this time.

I have failed it once out of a gazillion tries. It is a strategy Trial and you two are Perfect for it.

Well my first try was probably a year ago, but as I recall the leader wasn't a very good leader, and the team didn't work together very well. Whether we would've done better and everyone would've listened to a better leader I can't say.

My second try was a team lead by Nemu on test. I think it was during dual pistols beta so we had lots of blasters and some defenders. We probably would have succeeded with a better balanced team.

Anyway, I look forward to trying it again. I'm sure we'll have fun whether we succeed or not.

That, good sir, is the entire point of the event itself!

I will be available and would like to attend. I have at least 3 heroes in this range (possibly a fourth), any preferences on build?

Claws/WP Scrapper
Tri-Form Peacebringer
Tri-Form War Shade
Emp/Emp Defender (need to check her level again though)

*edit* Added to the UA Event Calendar

I like to do this trial with dedicated "pairs" of heroes, we can make these kinds of decisions when we see how many folks show up to participate.

Another fun filled and challenging event planned by the SH...

I plan to be here for this one, I have several toons that have the badges, but many more that do not... I'm sure to have a toon that plans to join.

As always, thanks SH for planning the weekly event in the name of LIBERTY!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who hosted, served as team captains, or came out to have a good time. We had a total of 4 teams and it sounds like everyone was successful.

Considering my dismal performance, I think I should have stayed in retirement. Sorry guys...

Sisterhood Sunday Event For June 13, 2010

The Abandoned Sewer Trial

From the looks of the crowd around the Atlas Park Sewer Entrance, Liberty server really did want to "Go Underground with Sisterhood and Friends!", as advertised this week in SisterhoodFriends channel. We were thrilled at the large, enthusiastic turn out for the event today.

Starting the Abandoned Sewer Trial were 4 teams consisting of 3 teams of 6 players and one team with 7 players for a total of 25 players.

Anyone that has ever even been in the abandoned sewer network knows it can get very deadly, very quickly.
The mission can be very tough and frustrating at times. Sometimes things can be pretty dramatic down there in the sewer fighting the Hydra, Circle of Thorns, sewer tentacles and the Rikti.

Our cast for the impending drama was:

Night's Dawn as Impervium Centurion - Team Captain
Flagrant Fowl as SyTran
Big Bud as Psychotic Bud
Doc Midknight as Doc Helstorm
True Hero of Paragon as himself
Raven something who unfortunately DC'ed (I think this was @raven's secondary)
Team Awesome finished in 1st Place by successfully finishing the trial with a time of 1:10:34

Mr. Jack Frost II as King Richard II - Team Captain
Cootie as himself
Chiang Shish
Nemu as Muhlamuun
Devast8or as Agent Eidolon
Dark Blade
Team King finished in 2nd Place by successfully finishing the trial with a time of 1:29

Tinkerbel as Eyil - Team Captain
Draygos as Kewl
Protona as Plutonium Blonde
Fine Print as himself
Daisy Diesel as herslf
Lauryian as Liliana
Team Cake finished in 3rd Place but was un-successful in completing the trial. Their time was 1:30:42

Green Eyed Lady as Ruby Red (the wild child) - Team Captain
Outlaw Woman as Hotlaw
DrewBysh as Terra Tempestra
Paul Metcalfe as Makurokurosuke
Enderbean as Iron Quarterback
Obsidian Ram as Phantom Legion
Sandrine as her wonderful self - thanks for the great heals
Team Green finished in 4th Place but was un-successful in completing the trial. Their time was 1:35:00

The Abandoned Sewer Trial is one of the most difficult in the game. Everyone was great sports about
the agony of defeat. We all left with promises to the Hydra and Rikti that we will return very soon and
We will not leave without the victory.

Thank you to everyone that participated and those that gave their support and well wishes as we made our descent.

Liberty, Home to the Best Heroes in the world!

Thanks to Sisterhood for the event, it was fun. And thanks to Gel for running a test run Sunday morning. We were successful on that and I got the badge on my main. That was my first successful run, and I think helped with the run later in the afternoon.

Also, Team Cake, hehe. I wonder if there was a debate on whether it should be cake or pie?

Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

Although we were not successful, it was a good experience. And I'll be ready should you all want to tackle this trial again.

Thanks again,
Paul
