  1. Congrats on 7 years of Tanker Tuesdays! I usually cannot make it most of the time, but always have fun when I do attend.

My pics from KR2... (sorry they are not high res, I have graphics set to stupidly low for incarnate trials and usually forget to reset for regular play)

  2. Congratulations on the 7 year anniversary of one of the finest SGs - The Sisterhood!

Here are a couple of pics from the costume contest:

    The contestants.

Tink and Beastyle, who arrived fashionably late but stuck around to jam for a while.

I didn't get a pic of the winners.
  3. Don't laugh. I regularly team with a couple of people who have win2k on a 2nd machine and cannot upgrade anytime soon.

I tested this on an old machine I have.

You do need to find a computer with .NET 3.5 already installed. Or as an alternate, try extracting the dlls from the .NET full install.

    This info is from here:

    http://rainstorms.me.uk/blog/2008/03...-windows-2000/

    In nutshell:

    1. Make sure you have Windows 2000 SP4 installed
    2. You may need to install KB 835732 before step 3
    3. Install .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (.NET 2.0 sp2 seemed to work)

Copy the .NET 3.5 dlls from a computer with .NET 3.5 already installed. Default location on Vista - c:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5
Copy over all the .NET 3.5 dlls to the CoH folder.

Of course, make backups of everything before you try. And this might not work for future changes to the launcher, but it will extend time for those who cannot upgrade a bit more time to play.

    Theme Songs

I have a lot of music themed characters. Here are some of my favorites on Liberty:

    Bruce Springsteen - "Pink Cadillac"

The song "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin is a close second. Or maybe a B-side...

Stray Cats - "Stray Cat Strut"

    He's a ladies' cat...

    The Firm - "Radioactive"

    Ondata di Caldo

Martha and the Vandellas - "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave"

I originally named this character after the 1970s funk group, Heatwave. But whenever she fires up hot feet, I cannot help but think of the song "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave" by Martha and the Vandellas.

    Electric Folklore

    The Alarm - "Rescue Me"

I do not really have the gun and run mentality to play blasters, so the song "Rescue Me" by The Alarm seems most fitting for this character.
  5. No worries Peterbilt, sometimes RL takes priority.

Like Matt said, Scirocco was not too bad, but eventually Ghost Widow was hanging out on the fringes, dropping toggles and wiping us out. Then a couple of others DC'ed and that was when we called it quits. Thank you to all who stuck around and sorry we could not finish.
  6. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

Great time and great teammates. Our team roster was:

Silent Witness <-- the ring leader for our run
    Master Marauder
    Eyil
    Bud Shield
    Flight of Phantasy
    Death Sting
    Chiang Shih
    Pygmy Hedgehog

    Thanks again,
    Paul

  7. Thanks go to Dream Weaverz and Project Obsidian Operations for organizing this event.

Although not successful, it was good experience. IMHO, I think better coordination would have helped with clearing mobs quicker in the AV room. We seemed to be able to clear mobs very quickly and with no problems during the Obelisk phase. But in the AV room, we seemed to be slow switching targets back and forth between cube mobs and AV. This gave the cube mobs (and some teams) ample time to scatter, especially the last run.

    Thanks again,
    Paul

  8. I will bring a dark defender or FF defender, whatever is needed.
  9. I would like to attend if a spot is available or if Matt runs teams 4-6.

I can bring a scrapper or dark defender or FF defender.
  10. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

The TF was much fun as was the GM hunt afterward. I had to bolt after a couple of GMs to grab dinner before preparing for rl Trick or Treat.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
  11. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

Quite a marathon TF, but with a good team like today's, always fun.

    Thanks again,

  12. Thanks go to all the SGs, Dream Weaverz, Project Obsidian Operations & Maulers and Medics, for organizing this event.

As somebody commented, that was the most people I have seen in Pocket D in a while. It was nice to see the Ocho there too.

And thanks go to Amygdala for the great CoP guide. I am glad we did not have to deal with the HurRAWRicane from the Storm AV. Also, thank you for picking up a friend after I dropped from the team.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
  13. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

Our team encountered a few rough in spots in the cyst cave, but I had a great time.

    Thanks again,

  14. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

Great team and a great time as always. My blaster is too low level, so I missed the all blaster ITF. Themed TFs make things interesting and are a lot of fun.

    Thanks again,

  15. I would like to attend if there is a spot available for a tanker.
  16. Thanks for hosting this TF.

It was nice see the return of the Sisterhood Sunday Event. Lots of fun as always.

    Thanks again,

Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

It was nice see the return to TFs. And initially, a bit strange to see previously villain-only ATs in IP. I had a great time as always.

    Thanks again,

  18. Beefcake (owner of the those sites) says lately there have been problems with an upgrade. Even the map pack has been moved to SourceForge to reduce bandwidth problems with the new issue and all.

If you have not tried already, he posted on badge-hunter to try running the command:

    ipconfig /flushdns

Or try clearing your cookies and see if that helps.
  19. Congrats to all the other new professors! It is an honor to be listed among such exalted company.
  20. Thanks to all the TT vets for organizing this event.

I ran a PI radio team after the original team lead left to form another TT group. It seemed like all had a good time as we let it loose against COT, Council, Arachnos and eventually filleted Captain Mako in the PI bank mission. After that, I joined the AV team to defeat Bobcat and Neuron. I had a great time and met many new people during the event.

A few years back, I occasionally attended the original TT on Champion. My ZZ Top themed character, Deguello, leveled from 4 - 16 strictly on those few TT I attended. I will try to revise my schedule to attend next week.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
  21. Congrats on 5 year anniversary! Thank you for hosting the TFs. I had a blast. And thanks go to my teammates for tolerating my occasional tankfendery play.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
  22. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event again.

Great turnout, great team and a great time as always. And a special thanks to those who prepared with an ambrosia run in advance.

    Thanks again,

  23. Thanks go to the Sisterhood for hosting this event.

I was fortunate enough to be included on both runs. I would also like to thank those who stuck with it on the first run. It was a bit rough without a lot of debuffs or heals except for transfusion. But once we regrouped and buffed ourselves to the gills, the 2nd attack went smoother.

Another great team on the second run. I think it helped that we were level 41 for that run - a sea of orange and red, rather than a sea of purple. It was a good experience and I had a great time for both runs.

    Thanks again,
    Paul
