Farming alone or with others?

Madam you might be thinking about when you face different enemy groups. For Example if your diff is on +0/+4 solo fighting council during the mid levels you might encounter lets say 10 minions with 2 Lt's thrown in the mix for spice. If you look at another enemy group for example on +0/+4 like Arachnos you will find yourself fighting 1 Mu Boss 3 LT's and I don't know 1 or 2 minions.

This can change once you form a team and reset the mish. Causing a difference of LT, Minion and boss spawn mob size. I wish I could explain myself more...it's one of those things in which it's easier to show then...hrmm, I am to lazy to use Powerpoint right now lol.

The system is completely different now, and if it is not working as expected, you should bug it.
Oh, sorry. I wasn't talking about THAT far back in the mists of time. That changed before i4 didn't it (i2 or something?).

My Brute, who puts up numbers comparable or perhaps higher than a Fire/Kin controller and every other character I've seen, can achieve 40-45 defeats per minute.
Guess I'm doing something right. I tried Herostats and it says I got 44.83 kills per minute on my SS/Fire Brute. Screw bosses btw imo, just do +0/x8 no bosses

Just a little fun fact for you.

For the sake of keeping the math simple let's say you are getting (10,000 inf/minute) solo. In order to achieve the same inf/min on a team we could use the below formula.

x = necessary influence per minute

x*(team modifier)/(team size) = (target inf per minute - 10,000)
for a 8 man team the team modifier should be 2.5
(x*2.5)/8 = 10,000
x=80,000/2.5
x=32,000
32,000 inf/minute is what we need to accomplish as a team in order to match your solo speed. So in summary you would need to kill 3.2 times faster per minute as a team assuming you are fighting the same level enemies.

If it changed after the difficulty changes fine. But I've experienced missions set to the original default difficulty with +2 and +3 enemies while on an eight man team. Then adding in going to invincible difficulty, it could get insane. Especially when the idiot team leader did that in the hollows.

It might have been changed. Outside of a single ITF on a level 50 scrapper, I've not teamed since the difficulty scale changes. I do know that when set to -1/x4(or higher)for personal difficulty, enemies tend to be my level or +1 to me. Which can be important since I want more enemies, but the ability to defeat them.
