Game crash when trying to change video options

When I try to select the Graphics and Audio tab, the game crashes. Anyone see this sort of problem?

I am playing on a laptop with Windows 7 - 64.

Not me, I could access the Graphics and Audio tab just fine. I'm using a laptop with Vista.

But I did have shadows turned completely off, and this patch turned them back on at Low. No other graphic settings seem to have been changed that I can tell.

Torrynt, kindly run CoHHelper and paste the results here. It will give us some more info to work with. Also, a bit more info concerning when this issue appeared might prove useful along with any other info you think might be of value.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Basically, the game runs fine... although today everyone appeared translucent after the patch, so not sure if that's an issue since I was only able to log for a minute or so.

When I open options, and choose the graphics and audio tab, the game crashes. There is no error message that I see. The tab worked fine prior to this and I was frequently able to change graphical settings.

Try updating your drivers. That might fix you.

Yep, it was the drivers, which was odd because it worked up until two days ago.

I was having a similar problem. My character and world gfx would freeze if I adjusted some of the gfx sliders. Not all of the sliders would cause a hang, though. I can't remember all of the sliders that did it, but most of the new UM sliders did it, especially AO settings and advanced shadow settings. This was before the latest patch. I updated my drivers, to no avail. The new patch fixed some of the issues but the UM sliders can still cause it but not every time. So weird.

What's really strange is that only the character and environment gfx freeze. My UI works fine, I can hear powers activate, I can see other player's names run by (but not the character itself). It's quite bewildering. Any ideas?

Here's my CoHHelper info:

Exact same problem. Windows 7 X64 and I crash every-time I try accessing the graphic options...So frustrating. I have updated to latest drivers and I have tried safe mode to no avail.

I got the same exact problem too. Game is so laggy I can't play with the current settings. Weird though, it worked fine before the system recovery I did recently.
