Problem with Base Editor
I was just using the editor last night and didn't see this issue...
Have you checked in with the Tech & Bugs forums?
The first thing they will probably have you do is double check your drivers... not just through the windows app, but on your graphics card's website. For some reason, the windows app is not working 100% properly.
After that, they may want you to post some specs, they'll tell ya how... then they might have some more suggestions for ya... Smart folks over there, give them a chance.

YUMMY Low-Hanging Fruit for BASE LUV
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago as did someone wlse more recently. For me the solution was as simple as quitting and restarting the game.
Enjoy your day please.
I, too, have been having this exact same issue. While in the Base Editor, the item previews on the bottom panel are all blank, white squares. Also, the item previews in the right side window show up as just a white square. Basically, any time a base item image would be shown, it appears as a white square (this includes the "Add Personal Item" option whether I'm logged on as SG leader or not). Furthermore, it happens in both my bases - one on Victory and the other on Freedom.
I've tried everything that I could think of or that's been suggested to me including:
-Verify Files
-Safemode
-Uninstalling / Reinstalling City of Heroes
-Upgrading video card
-/unloadgfx & /reloadgfx in game
-Turned all graphics settings DOWN
-Turned all graphics settings UP
-Logged onto a friends account and checked his base, same dilemma
The thing is, this really came out of nowhere. One day I logged into the game, editted my base with no issue then the next time I tried, I experienced this bug and it's been happening ever since. I didn't change anything, it just happened. I've seen that it's a somewhat common problem for MAC users, but I'm using a laptop with Windows. It does have an Intel chipset, which I know has caused problems for some, but other than this base editor bug, the rest of the game runs fantastic. Every other aspect of the game is fine, I just can't see base item previews (a minor issue, yes, but an annoying one at that).
My question is this: Does anyone else have any suggestions as to how to correct this issue -AND- is anyone else experiencing it (that's not using a MAC)?
Thank you to all that read this, hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.
I'm running on a Mac and I have almost the exact same issue. Only difference is that my icons for each item are colored "hash" with a teeny tiny little barely visible image of the item in the bottom left corner that's about 1/4 the size it ought to be. And yes ... this does make it way harder to edit my base than it ought to be.
I'm also reasonably sure that this mess with the icons is a major contributor to the HUGE GAPING MEMORY LEAK that the editor has. Sometimes all it takes is scrolling from left to right through the choices on the Room Details tab (ie. the LONG one) for my client to crash to the desktop. During most base editing sessions, I wind up crashing and relaunching dozens of times before being able to complete a project session.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The editor we've got is a total piece of numblecrunk.
I think it's a grapghics rendering issue.
I've had the issue popping up for years, on various video cards.
The nearest cause I've found so far is that the item menu (where to objects are shown) is too small to render the objects properly. However, when I drag it bigger (ie, taller) and restart the game, it looks fine.
Hey base builders! So, this may have already been brought up, but when im editing my base, the list of items at the bottom of the screen all show up as white squares. So im not able to see the image of each item, just the name of it. Any idea on how to fix it. Im on a PC.
Thanks!
